WE ARE a "part" of the problem ... Too much talk ... too little action! IF everyone who posted here, just took 20 minutes a day to write to their elected representatives, took the time to organize a "action group" of local like-minded friends and neighbors ... and got them to commit to do the same (20 minutes a day) ... EVENTUALLY we would have a significant movement ... WHAT HAVE YOU DONE locally to further the cause?

This has go NO CHANCE! First, O'Reilly (as much as I love the guy) WOULD NEVER accept second spot on the ticket, Second, Glenn Beck is too smart to consider running for President ... he KNOWS his abilities and limitations ... He's doing EXACTLY what he was meant to do ... President? Never would he run, Never could he win ... (although personally, I think he's GREAT!)

No, I don't believe so. America doesn't (AND shouldn't!) go to WAR for "spoils"... in every War America has been involved in, usually the only "spoils" we've asked for is enough ground to bury our heroes... America should go to War to defend ourselves, or for very limited and specific goals that are in our National Interests. As a vet of Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, one who has seen the aftereffects of War ... War should ALWAYS be the "LAST RESORT" ... sometimes necessary ... BUT always the LAST RESORT ...

We MAY need a Constitutional Amendment to accomplish change 2 and 4, BUT we MUST control the ability of any small group of elected officials to REQUIRE state and local government to institute "feel good" laws that create havoc with local "common sense" ... and we MUST control the MONEY. SINCE any government spending MUST orginate in the House of Representatives, and at the state level the House of Representatives is VERY "close" to the average voter, ONLY THEN will "WE THE PEOPLE" have the chance to regain control of our government...

In order that the people regain control of their government, they must gain control of the money and power (with money comes power). 1. Institute the Fair Tax. (states collect sales taxes - federal government collects income tax - Fair Tax = Sales Tax, thus STATES control the money) 2. Constitutional Amendment requiring a Balanced Budget, (except in times of declared war - allowing debt ONLY for WAR related expenses). 3. eliminate "feather-bed" benefits for ALL elected officials - allowing them ONLY the benefits given to rank and file government employees (eliminates the "special" benefits to congress and other elected representatives). These three changes which likely eliminates the need for term limits (no special benefits and little "power" or "money" to corrupt these elected officials and finally 4. Make "unfunded mandates" from one level of governement forced upon lower levels of government unconstitutional (likely already ARE, but sometimes reinforcement IS necessary) .

More states need to force the Federal Government to follow the 10th Amendment to the Constitution. Is YOUR state legislature telling the US Congress to "Butt Out" of the powers and responsibilities reserved for the States and the People? IF NOT, TELL your Representative that they SHOULD! Return sovereignty to the states. Here is the attempt in Pennsylvania to try to reestablish states rights (press release here: http://samrohrer.com/uploads/PR-10thAmendment-Res... -- and copy of resolution here: http://samrohrer.com/uploads/10th-Amend-Res-22.pd... ) and there are several states with similar resolutions/initiaves. Let's get the power back closer to the people, NOT the removed and somewhat isolated "would-be kings" in Washington. Find out if your state legislature is doing something similar, if NOT, find a Represntative that will introduce it ... When the power is closer to the people - the voters - ONLY then will the threat of NOT being reelected be "real", and will get the attention of the peoples elected representatives. We live in a Representative Republic.... but it ONLY "works" when the people have the ability to "influence" the representatives via the ballot box. The ULTIMATE "special interest group" ... WE THE PEOPLE!
