It can break down into smaller pieces, but it never goes away. If you have a method or know of a way to make plastic disappear, please share with us!

I am well aware that plastic bags aren't the only contributors to man made pollution in our ecosystem. At this point we don't have a solution for replacing all plastic applications with something more eco-friendly, therefore we cannot ban all things plastic. We do on the other hand, have solutions or substitutes for plastic grocery bags. That is one of many reasons plastic bags have become the area of focus. Change is never easy or fun, and I understand why people are upset. No doubt, it's going to be an inconvenience. When it comes to reducing our impact on our environment, this is a step in the right direction. There has to be a starting point right?

I am the founder of a nonprofit organization that cleans garbage out of our rivers, lakes, parks and city streets. First hand, I can say for certain that plastic bags are one of the most common and harmful articles of litter we encounter. A large percentage of the plastic bags distributed are not properly disposed of (recycled), and they find their way in to our ecosystem, and never go away. Plastic is FOREVER. Plastic doesn't biodegrade. We throw plastic away, and never think about it again, but it will remain on this earth forever. What's wrong with reusable bags? It might be a little more work for us, but in the end it's totally worth it. If you don't feel it's worth it, then please google "GREAT PACIFIC GARBAGE PATCHES" That should change your mind..... At least I hope it would. We need to stop being selfish and realize that we are plotting the future for our children, grand children and so on. Bring on the TD's

KOMO - Seattle, WA : \'It\'s a supermarket for Oxycontin and ecstasy\' | News | Seattle News, Weather, Sports, Breaking N

I have personally witnessed several of my coworkers go to the methadone clinic every day (for years). I'm sorry, but it doesn't take four years to "wean" off of heroin. None of these people seek help outside of methadone, like NA, rehab, or even try to associate themselves with a different crowd. They continue to use other drugs, sometimes sell the methadone to others for profit, and even find ways to alter the methadone or mix it with other drugs. I'm not saying this is the case for every recovering heroin addict, but it seems to be the case with every heroin addict that I've met. I hope they find another way!

Great job on the moms part! The laundromat owner, or maintenance guy, didn't follow proper lock-out tag-out procedures, mandated by the state of Washington. When a machine is out of service, it must be unplugged from it's power source, and the end of the cord encased, and padlocked. This is standard procedure. Maybe the person responsible should take a safety class at Washington Employers?

There is a big difference between making a stupid decision, and being stupid in general. When you say smokers are stupid, you are making a generalized statement. Of course we all make stupid decisions. I've made a ton of them. It doesn't make me stupid. And I don't call fat people "stupid". I make judgments, but not blanket judgments, and I keep them to myself, if they could offend others. You and "Grumpy" obviously don't have that type of consideration. Don't be surprised if people get mad, when someone makes a generalized statement like "Uh, excuse me ... people who smoke ARE stupid !!!! How else could one possibly explain their behavior? " and you agree with it. You are agreeing with a very close-minded statement. If you are going to make any (voiced) general opinions like such, about someones health, than you better be in perfect health. If not, you are the kettle calling the pot black. You making bad health decisions, is no different than anyone else making bad health decisions. Plane and simple.

Heart disease (usually caused by obesity) kills more people a year than smoking does, by a huge margin. Do you call everyone who doesn't choose an organic diet "stupid"? If so, you better be PERFECTLY healthy, in order to have a leg to stand on.

As much as people would like to think otherwise.... Dojo is right. Young (and old) men, go to where the younger, good looking woman are, and we all know that. I'm not speaking for all men, but for the majority. This guy is trying to run a business, that unfortunately generates more revenue with hotter woman. Do I like the concept of all of this? No. But having hot woman running coffee stands, is the standard that has been set in this region. I wish both of them the best, and I'm positive that they will find jobs that they like. If they set up a stand near me, I'll happily bring them business!

"Those who pushed the limits of physics on the plane, being risk takers and reckless without regard for the people who might be watching them, and those who promoted and profited from hosting the show." It's called an "Air Race" for god sakes! Pushing the limits of their air crafts, is exactly what they were supposed to be doing. People go to see the planes buzzing above them, and to see the impressive handling and speed.
