<description>These vehicles are not designed to meet the safety/emission standards of western markets. I don&amp;#039;t think any of them would meet the standards in the U.S. and the companies would have to completely revamp the design in order to bring them up to regulation. I&amp;#039;d imagine it wouldn&amp;#039;t be cost-effective (if the models don&amp;#039;t sell, they&amp;#039;d waste a lot of money in redesigning them). Tata has mentioned plans of bringing its car to the U.S., but it will have to bring it up to standard first. Perhaps as the country shifts more attention to the environment and cutting costs (as opposed to riding the largest, most expensive car on the block) we&amp;#039;ll see other subcompacts come to market.  </description>
