Sometimes I don't understand Mets fans. They are OK with this, but get upset about the fact that the walls aren't blue and orange. Doc's signature should mean more than some Mets logo on the right field wall. So what if you don't see it, just know that it's there.

No he's saying that the Mets should allow a former ROY, NL Cy Young award winner and '86 World Champ do that. There are streets named after Pete Rose in Cincinnati for god sake. Yes this is a shame.

This is the thing I don't understand. Why don't they just cover it up with some glass, frame it, make it look nice. Everybody can say "I remember when Doc did this". This is nothing new, alot of you must have never been in restaurants where celebrities frequent. These establishments actually ENCOURAGE autographs on the walls. Random people don't just go signing on there, why here?

I could care less about the lack of Mets history as of now, would have loved to see a Tom Seaver monument though. They say they are willing to address this, so thats OK. However they do need to re-evaluate the way they treat former players a'la Doc Gooden etc. As an African American, I have the utmost respect for Jackie Robinson but lets have something out there for "our guys". Leave Doc's "graffiti" out there, it was a memorable day for him and for plenty of fans who hadn't seen him in Queens in years. I was there on Opening Day...Citi is a state of the art facility and should be treated as such. But lets start paying our respects to the guys who built Mets' Legacy and not necessarily a guy who never even put the uniform on. love the name btw!

MetsBlog.com : Poll: Biggest Worry

If you look at the Marlins rotation, 3 out of 5 of them have era's below 3.00. We don't have anybody in our rotation besides Johan who can say that. In fact, Livan is the only other pitcher in the rotation with an era below 7. We've scored 49 Runs to their 45 Runs, scoring is not the issue. You have to point to the SP for the poor start as compared to their red hot start. If we get better starts from Pelfrey, Maine, and Ollie, we'll start rolling. Starting pitching has to be the biggest worry right now.

SP could be better. We'd win more games if the offense didn't have to score 6 runs to get a win every night. Need Pelf and Maine to be who we expect them to be. I've already given up on Ollie showing any form of consistency.

If it had been Piazza, it would have been gold plated with mood lighting. Horrible move, the Wilpons have no respect for Mets history. Im starting to think that the only reason they love Piazza is because he started as a Dodger....

They should be putting a glass frame over that, not erasing it. Lets try harder not to alienate great former players next time....ok?

You're right, he hasn't been going opposite field as much as before. The pull hitting is leading to all these strikeouts we're seeing from him. You think they'll try to let him work through it before moving him down? I wanted Beltran in the 3 hole from the start to be honest. Its weird, Wright seems like a totally different player with RISP. He can get on leading off pretty well but it looks like he's trying to do too much as soon as you get a man on second.

I totally agree with you with flip flopping Wright and Beltran. Only thing is, with Wright struggling right now, teams can pitch around Delgado more. Beltran is protecting Delgado well right now. I think Jerry watched them rake in the WBC in this same lineup order and decided to carry it over when they got back, and it has worked.

Even though he was in the minors, I'm pretty sure he was on the 40 man roster and protected from any rule 5 or anything like that previously. Since he has been DFA'd he been dropped from the 40 man and now has to clear waivers to get placed back into our minor league system. Thats my understanding anyway.

Yea it doesn't really make much sense. I was wondering how they were gonna clear out space for Redding when he was ready to go. Looks like Fossum might be the stand in until he is ready.

I'm guessing Neise would have to get the start, although its not looking good for him right now in Buffalo. 12 ER given up in 12.1 innings pitched.
