I know it's anecdotal, but I attended one of the first tea parties back in April of last year, in Santa Monica. It was very diverse, with Asians, Blacks, Persians and Hispanics and Gays represented. We were all on the same page, and I felt closer to the people at that rally than to the people of my own neighborhood. Where I am from it's not good to admit you are a Republican unless you want to burn up at least an hour in useless "debate" that is really a bunch of folks yelling at you for being a sellout.
