When it refers to the i4 under the switch vibration issue does that mean the iPhone 4? If I'm just now downloading PT and jb'ing will there be an issue?

Hey guys, So I have been trying to jail break but the "slide to jailbreak" isn't responding or something. Should I just continue to reload the web page or what?

As stated, there's is promise from sherif's exploit but it is not guaranteed to turn into an unlock. They are developing and staying on the safe side by waiting. A majority of people will want to upgrade to 4.0 and they know that. So why risk what happened with 5.11 and actually have to wait 6 months before an exploit is found.

Don't quote me on this but I believe if you upgrade using a custom ipsw this won't change your baseband and therefore you can unlock again using redsn0w

Hey guys, So I was thinking about buying an iPhone 3GS. It will most likely come with the new bootloader. Does this mean that I can't jailbreak without the need to be plugged in during restart? Or is that only for unlocked phones?

In iTunes restore your phone to the original 3.1.2 FW. Using PT 3.1.4 make an ipsw (MAKE SURE you select 'no' when asked whether you have pwned your phone before). Follow the instructions from PwnageTool to install the custom ipsw. You should now have a JB'd phone with Cydia installed. If you need to unlock your phone add b l a c k r a 1 n . c o m to your list of repos and install blacksn0w.

I've heard pushfix adds other problems. From what I've heard, geo incorrectly implemented hacktivation in blackra1n and the MuscleNerd and the Dev Team are working on a fix with him.

If you're having issues the safest thing to do with install the original 3.1.2 with iTunes and then use PT 3.1.4 to JB and then download blacksn0w from cydia (add the b l a c k r a 1 n . c o m repo).

the JB is tethered, yes. But once you re-run blackra1n and your phone boots you should keep your unlock. The isn't a "tethered unlock" just and unlock and a tethered jailbreak (if that makes sense).

since your phone isn't starting up you probably don't have the right bootloader to allow untethered boots. Re-run blackra1n and your problem should be fixed.

no one said it was impossible. people suggested it may be or that it would take a long time to exploit - which it did.

so then do I just restore using a regular custom ipsw (no hacktivation) and then install blacksn0w from Cydia?
