Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : CU Buffs Football: Jon Embree hasn\'t picked QB for this weeks game - Buffzone

I hate to say it, because I was pulling for JE over Coach Mac to get this job, but Ryan was right over the weekend. They're both wrong for the job and we were fulls for demanding a "Colorado guy" to come in and right the ship. What we need is a proven, successful coach who has developed a nothing into a something. I don't care where he comes from - even if it's the coach of Mater Dei HS. Let's face it...our players are NO BETTER than the top ranked HS programs in this nation. And this is why I blame JE. His recruits, who are playing, STINK! Let's run down the list: Jordan Webb - this clown would never have had the privilege to wear the black & gold had he not been FIRED by his new coach in KU. The putz holds on to the ball for WAY TOO LONG and is sacked incessantly. Additionally, since he's only 4'6" he gets swatted down at the line of scrimmage AT LEAST 5 times per game (look it up!). He can't hit a target, he can't release the ball and he can't put the ball in the end zone. His performance in the USC red zone was disgusting. Kenneth Crawley - SLOW and AWFUL. This kid gets burned for a minimum of two TD's PER GAME! He is solely responsible for, literally, thousands of receiving yards yielded and countless TD's where he never even looked back to see the ball. He's been burned every single week and I can't understand why he's allowed on the football field. Tony Jones - This guy must wake up every morning and cake his hands in vaseline. He can't hold on to a darn thing! He fumbles in the backfield and he fumbles on special teams. If you're too afraid to get hit then go back to Pee Wee football because you're KILLING US!!! It is a DISGRACE that we're the worst offensive and defensive team in ALL of Division 1 football. Unreal! I went to CU from '94 -'98. I know what it's like to see a quality Colorado football team play football. Our slide into disgrace began in 2003 and 9 years later we've yet to recover. I also go to every home game and I was even at the USC game two weeks ago. I've maybe missed 2-3 games since 1994. I am fed up with this team and the failure of the last 3 coaches to get it right. Let's pay the OC in Oregon or Kansas St $1.5M/yr and get it done this offseason. This coaching crew cannot get it done and instead of saying they should get 4 years because Hawkins got 5 - or because, it's not fair to only give the guy 2 years. As Biden would say, "that's MALARKEY!" We're heading to 4-20 in his two years. Find me ANY coach who started two years ago with a worse record. Let's go Tad Boyle!

It was so much fun watching a game again. I even had butter flies in my stomach during the last five minutes. I mean, when was that last time it felt like that? For me, it was when we folded against Wisconsin (Ballinger) in a bowl game by giving up 2 or 3 4th and 20+ plays in the last two minutes of the game. I almost thought that was going to happen again. Glad it didn't! GO BUFFS!!! Felt great to wear the black and gold with pride today AFTER a game.

Good Buff for Big12. Not good enough for Pac12. Time to bring in a new coach who's had success at the national level in the most competitive conference in the nation - the Pac12. Either way, 12 years in any job means it's time to move on, anyway.

I don't know even know what to think about this. Is this part of the cleansing process associated with he-who's-name-shall-not-be-mentioned and which we need to go through in order to hit rock bottom, cleanse ourselves from evil (AKA Misty) and then begin the climb to greatness? Or, is this some horrible karma that we somehow brought upon ourselves. I hope it's the former, but if it's the ladder I'm just going to blame the korn kob kornholios. Either way, I say after the Oregon slaying, we say a big thank you (with a parade if necessary) to Tyler and show him to his spot on the side-line where he can learn the ropes of coaching football (just like his predecessor did for him) and get Hirschman under the center as we begin the 2012 season.

I didn't say we beat or lost to the team. I said the QB beat us and Van Pelt ran all over us. There are many QB's who have lit us up on the ground in the last few years alone. But I agree it was also the coaches job to have the players in the correct place on D.

Sent from my iPhone

Go back to QB's like's Tommy Frazier, Eric Crouch, Scott Frost, Michael Bishop, Jonathan Beasley, Josh Freeman, Bradley Van Pelt and then all through the late 2000's and up until now we have NEVER been able to stop an agile, running QB. We ALWAYS get burned by them on 3rd and long over and over again! Think about it, we drop back into bend-but-don't-break defense, their receivers take our corners running and with the middle of the field open the QB steps through the pocket and takes off. We've seen that movie a million effing times. it's sickening!

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Disappointed CU Buffs know there\'s work to do - Buffzone

Last year I noted how piss poor Ryan Miller was playing and that for a guy his size, he should be dominating anyone he sees in D1 football. Its unfortunate that he's still horrible. I already watched a replay of the game, fast forwarding through most of it of course, so I could watch the other people on the field. Miller is not getting the job done and losing Bak obviously hurts. I sure hope this is week 1 jitters and not representative of the O-Line's capabilities. Additionally, WTF Hansen?! GET RID OF THE BALL!! How many balls did he dump out of bounds or into the ground when the pressure came? Once and he threw it 30 yards to clear it instead of 10 (into the turf). And Rodney, run forward or go down...get the jitter bugs out of your pants, stop running sideways, stop running backwards - just go down! Thankfully PRichards stepped up and I'm psyched to see how he does. I'd also like to see more of Speedy returning punts. And OMG - we have a punter! And he's a true frosh, walk-on?! Sick. Imagine that 18 year old being 21, mature and physically developed...he'll be pitching 60 yard punts regularly in a couple years. I really did like the play calling actually - especially when we saw a few glimpses of what the new look Buffs could be, but the consistency is also not there. Last note: I'm sorry, but we have too many 5'10" 175lb white guys on the team. Seriously. We need Bienemy going back into the 'hood - like he did with Mac - and getting us those kids who just want to play football and go pro. It's as if Hawkins only recruited kids that reminded him of Cody. Jeez - I can't wait for Hansen to graduate, the seniors/juniors to move on and Embree to get his system implemented. 2013 is the year of the Buffalo!

Actually, part of the TV contract includes coverage of the Olympic Sports which means those sports where we already compete at the Championship level but with no exposure or revenues to show for it will now have every event televised on the network allowing for local ad sales/revenue. Think about our indoor and outdoor track teams, long distance runners, skiing, and underwater basket weaving teams! Pretty stacked! I agree, no new sports for 2-3 years.
