Thanks Shivamarrora. I upgraded to 5.1.1 as I didn't want to lose add free YouTube or Google Maps (That you lose on 6.0 and higher). So my 3GS is upgraded and unlocked. All is well. Thanks

Sorry DevTeam, it's been a while since I've Jailbroken/upgraded my IOS on my iPhone 3GS. I have a jailbroken/unlocked 3GS with 4.2.1 an BB 05.11.07 I would like to upgrade to 6.1 or higher, but not sure what will happen e.g. do I lose You Tube and Google Maps? Do I need a custom IPSW? Sorry, it's been a while and not clear on how to do it. Thanks

Thanks. I need 4.2.1 on my i-Pad so I can sign up my 3GS i-Phone for "Find my i-Phone". Apparently Apple doesn't let you sign up any of the older devices (3GS) unless you have a new device. I'm amazed at Apple's logic on that one.

i-Pad Question: If I update my i-Pad to 4.2.1 via itunes, does it update to a baseband that will prevent me from jailbreaking later on?

I'm surprised that with all the questions being asked on this blog, someone hasn't developed a decision tree diagram for all the different scenarios. Seems to me there would be a whole lot less of the same questions being asked here if we could all reference a decision tree. I'd make the decision tree myself, but I'm a jailbreak idiot.

"iphone could not be restored (1600)" iPhone 3GS with 3.12 and I'm trying to upgrade to 4.2.1. I made the custom IPSW using Pwnage Tool 4.2. I put the phone in DFU Mode and restored with ITunes. However, I get the following error message in iTunes "iphone could not be restored (1600)" Any help would be apprecitaed.

Hi Frank, I have a 3GS w 3.1.2 (7D11) and Modem Firmware 05.11.07. I have no idea which bootloader I have. The phone was previously jailbroken via jailbreakme dot com and unlocked with ultrasnow. I would like to update to 4.2.1 (or whatever the latest update I can use). Do I update via Itunes or do I need to use a custom IPSW via Pwnage Tool? Thaks

I opened safari on my iPhone and typed in www.jailbreakme.com A few seconds later....it's jailbroken. After that, open Cydia (Installed automatically when its jailbroken) and search for "ultrasnow" Install it, and it's unlocked. Crazy easy.

Not an i-Phone question. Rather, a question on how to use this blog (intensedebate). I've posted several times on this blog and my profile keeps track of all of my posts with a unique URL for ea. However, when I click on the URL to get to my old post (to try and find responses), it never shows up. It always defaults to recent blogs. Anyone else have this problem?

Holy Cow Batman!. Apparently I've missed quite a bit of info since I last visted the DevTeam Blog. Ok, I've read the blog but I'm a lot confused. I have a 3Gs w 3.1.2 (7D11) and Modem Firmware (BB?) 05.11.07. Previously JB'd and UL'd using jailbreakme.com (worked like a charm) Question: If I use the latest PWnage Tool, does that change my baseband to something that will cuase me problems e.g. GPS? Should I leave my phone alone for now and wait for latest DevTeam magic? Thanks

I have the same question, but I'm not entirely clear on the "how to". I have a 3Gs w 3.1.2(7D11) and modem firmware 05.11.07 (I don't have a clue on the boot loader). Phone is jail broken (via Jailbreakme.com) and unlocked. How do I get ios 4.1 or 4.2.1? What do I do with it when I get it? Will ultrasnow unlock 4.1 or 4.2.1? Thanks
