<title>Antiwar.com Original Articles : What if Osama Calls Obama&#039;s Bluff?</title>
<link>http://original.antiwar.com/scheuer/2009/06/08/what-if-osama/#IDComment23790139</link>
<description>Why exactly is Mickey Scheuer being offered a berth at antiwar.com? It&amp;#039;s clear that he&amp;#039;s implicitly criticising Obama for proposing withdrawal from Iraq and Afghanistan. I don&amp;#039;t think Obama has any intention of withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan but that&amp;#039;s not the point. The point is that Mickey Scheuer would be against it should he actually do so. Mickey Scheuer is not anti-war, in other words. He is pro-war. Just like he is not anti-torture. He is pro-torture. Or did you miss the little opinion piece he published in the Washington Post in which he criticised Obama for backing off a little on the Bush regime&amp;#039;s torture policies? Scheuer is an out and out lunatic and was considered as such even at the CIA. You have welcomed him on board as a dissident thinker. But you have missed the point. Scheuer is a dissident from the opposite end of the pro/anti war spectrum of opinion to you. Scheuer was offering his critiques from the far-out extremist war-mongering fringe. He critiqued Bush &amp;amp; Cheney because they were not war-mongering enough for his tastes. Now he&amp;#039;s doing the same to Obama. </description>
