KATU - Portland, OR : Job seekers getting asked for Facebook passwords | Technology | KATU.com - Portland News, Sports, Tr

"The Department of Justice regards it as a federal crime to enter a social networking site in violation of the terms of service, but during recent congressional testimony, the agency said such violations would not be prosecuted." This statement is concerning because this seems that Congress is standing up for the rights of corporations. If an individual asked for the username and password for a corporation's Facebook account, I'm certain that individual would be charged and prosecuted. Legislation needs to make the act of a business or individual requesting an individual's or business social media account login information a mandatory prosecutable offense.

Thank you for setting up a great display this year. I do miss the old church facade, but I'm just as excited to have the abbey. Excellent job this year. I really appreciate your friendship, too. Cheers!

KATU - Portland, OR : Police: One dead in train versus pedestrian crash | Local & Regional | KATU.com - Portland News, Spo

I agree with your comment. "Trespasser walking on railroad tracks hit by train" is the most accurate headline for this story. Usually when I read about train-pedestrian hit statements from railroad officials, they do refer to the person on the tracks as "trespasser." Railroad tracks are private property and not public right of way, unlike a highway shoulder or sidewalk.

KATU - Portland, OR : Passengers: Crying baby gets mother kicked off TriMet bus | Local & Regional | KATU.com - Portland N

After reading both sides of the story in this article, this bus driver needs to be fired right now. This driver may have jeopardized this woman and her baby's safety and life by kicking the two off the bus at night. Kudos to the passengers for protesting this driver's selfish behavior by switching buses.

KATU - Portland, OR : Bicyclists at odds over bike-safety advertisement | Local & Regional | KATU.com - Portland News, Spo

I'm a driver. I'm also a bicycle rider. I see nothing wrong with the advice given in the ad. Bike Gallery is right because that is the reality of the attitude between drivers and bicycle riders in Portland. There is a lack of respect for between bicycle riders and drivers, and a lack of respect for traffic laws from both bicycle riders and drivers. Respect the rules and laws, respect the other vehicle (bicycles are considered vehicles in Oregon), stay alert, and use some common sense. That's for both drivers and bicycle riders.

Blank Paper : Black Butte (Wheeler County, Oregon)

This is true, Macclad! The Black Butte you're talking about is in Deschutes County west of Sisters. That was the reason why I titled the post to include the county name. The same also goes with Larch Mountain. Multnomah County, Ore., or Clark County, Wash., which both Larch Mountains are just divided by the Columbia River.

Does anyone remember this? In October 2009, Peter Fournier assaulted KATU photographer Bob Bullock because Fournier though Bullock was videotaping children at the school. Bullock was filming for a KATU weather segment promotional video from a public sidewalk. Story: http://www.katu.com/news/64320707.html

So far, based on this story, no crime has been committed at this point. The photographer was photographing from a public street, which he is well in his right to do under the First Amendment when photographing in public domain. Here's some advice to photographers by attorney Bert P. Krages II, "The Photographer's Rights."
