She's Hispanic and a woman. Even if the choice is a liberal, I really believe that a Supreme Court justice should have extensive judicial experience---having served at the federal District Court level at least---preferably at Circuit Court level. I would wish that the Senate would limit themselves to a person's character rather than their views when vetting. But then one has to worry about false accusatiuons. We saw what Bork when through as did Alito and Roberts to bring it more up to date. Luckily with Thomas, the accusations didn't stick, but I am sure that man went through immense pain at his reputation being trampled on.
