There is lots of talent in the 2015-17 intakes.

Better still, none of them feel beholden to Gideon Osborne, who still sees himself as a 'player' despite destroying the Party in the Standard every day in pursuance of his vendetta against Theresa May.

I am afraid I have no sympathy for Rob Halfon.

A number of Gideon Groupies were hideously over-promoted from 2010 onwards, Liz Truss and Saijd Javid being the two most obvious examples.

I'm inclined to agree with you.

I am genuinely perplexed by this whole leadership story - I detect absolutely zero appetite for a leadership challenge either, in our Parliamentary Party or amongst our activist base.

I think the vast majority of the Party accepts that Theresa May is a hopeless campaigner [but potentially a half decent Prime Minister] who will not be allowed to fight another GE as leader, but also that she should now be left in place for the next two years to lead a Government that delivers what we all want - Brexit.

Nope, Corbyn for all his faults just polled 40% in an election.

Brown polled 29% I recall.

[Proving again just how useless a leader Cameron really was]

Pointless re-writing history BUT...

Cameron failed to secure a majority against the worst Labour leader since Foot - G.Brown

Cameron had us flatlining in the polls 33-37% throughout his tenure with his lukewarm metrosexual SDP-Lite politics.

As soon as we started looking and sounding like a real right wing Party again, we polled 42%.

Do the maths...

If Damian Green is harbouring leadership ambitions of his own...he is deluded.

Not only will the Brexiteers not have this EU fanatic, neither will the very capable 2015 and '17 intakes.
