Because of that, when the Rightwing bloggers and Fox commentators tried to play their old schtick on us, it fell flat. When they complained of reverse racism or oversensitivity or liberal guilt, nobody believed them. When they tried to act hurt and offended by the actions of the victims and the targets of the racism, it didn't work. And even on this Blog we saw blatant irony in action. We saw people fret about "PC" words and behavior while attempting to foist upon us their own PC language. We saw folks fret about insincere apologies even as they cheer the insincere apologies of their own rightwingers. We saw individuals call names like "demented" and "insane" in order to try to shut down debate, and then accuse others of name calling and bullying. I for one think that's healthy. And, again, I apologize if I offended anyone during the heat of discussion.

But I think the chimp cartoon was actually very healthy for our nation. It's not universally agreed, but I think it's generally agreed by most fair people that the CHIMP cartoon was either A) BLATANTLY racist or B)Fairly inferred to be racist (even if it really wasn't intended to be).

Second of all, that was during the heat of an election. I thought it important to show I was a real person when there were so many anonymous bloggers spreading lies about Obama. But once I started criticisizing Radical Muslims, i realised that might not be so wise. Then "folks" on this message board started calling out my real name whenever I beat them in a fair debate. StanH WROTE about why Matt Miller and company didn't talk about the blatantly racist CHIMP Cartoon for which an apology was issued: "Here's an idea on why no one on the show brought it up. Mostly it is a New York event as the attack was nearby..." I've got a different theory. Since Tony Blankley is Exec VP of Edelman Public Relations, one of the largest PR groups in the world, he probably has veto power over topics. But, he uses his veto power not to censor discussion but to RECUSE himself from topics for which he represents clients. Basically, he plays the "conflict of interest" card. In other words, Edelman probably represents the NY Post or some part of the Rupard Murdock organization. The other panelists readily agreed not to discuss it because they don't think it's helpful for the progressive cause anyway.
