It's definitely a bit... meh. But re; the recognition thing. I'd say it's better to have people knowing that the new Batgirl is Spoiler as opposed to it still being Cass. Let's face it, Cass has some hardcore martial artists in her Rogues Gallery. She's had cults dedicated to Shiva out for her head. If one of those guys came after Steph thinking she was Cass? Painful. I'd say on that level at least, it's a good idea for Steph to cut her ties to the former Batgirl and establish (quite clearly) that she's not her. I will say though, the points it gets for being form over function beat the slight ugg for me. Plus I love her riot-stick.

Between the threesome gag in the second issue (which failed on oh-so many levels) and the 'JUSTICE!' of the first issue, I am really no longer interested in this title. It's a shame, too, because the art is wonderful. ...and really, like Dinah would blab if she found out that two of her friends had a threesome?

What REALLY bugs me is now that Torchwood has been approved for a 4th season Captain Jack will probably have to shag a bird or two to prove his bisexuality. Personally I'm hoping that that will be avoided by them just bringing in a whole new cast for the new season. The atmosphere would just be weird and a little too angst-y to me if it was just Jack and Gwen to me. A whole new Torchwood branch and a whole new cast could be so much fun. Hope the campaigns go well, though. I know RTD has been slightly dismissive of them.

Just read through the full issue earlier. And this has to be hands down one of the most enjoyable books DC is putting out right now, definitely. And, uh, really wouldn't object if they kept this as Catman's permanent costume.

Definitely agree. They'll probably play it out as 'Is she? Isn't she?' for an issue or two. But for a tactical genius like Cyclops to not see why Emma would sign up like she did would just be poor writing, IMO. ...and okay, Archangel versus Bullseye is an awesomely fun fight in the making.

Well, I'm not saying that his being straight is what invalidates anything. It's the phrasing, really. 'Straight Male and Proud!' seems akin to commenting on an issue of race with 'White Male and Proud!'. It just seems daft and indicative of a lack of understanding/sensitivity to the issue at hand. We have Gay Pride, we're Out and Proud because we -need- to be and because we've all fought hard to get to where we are today. Likewise for ethnic minorities, feminists and other oppressed groups. If you're a straight male, you're automatically accepted, approved and catered to by the majority of society, why do you need to state pride about that?

I'm torn, I have to say. On the downside; Lesbian blonde cheerleader girl. Oh wow, it's so awesome that a show is exploring sexual diversity. ...and doing it once again with the hot chick. On the up; New characters are always fun for me and the carnival/freakshow is definitely looking an interesting mix of personalities/powers. On the down again...; New characters never seem to last long on this damn show. They always wind up pushed aside or offed for the sake of focusing on the originals. Still, I'm going to remain as hopeful as I can. Maybe catch the first few episodes. ...and skip through any lesbian scenes. ...and anything with Mohinder.
