Interesting that JRM is comfortable with having people of many different views within the party, but those who have different views to him want him out. My guess would be that they want to maintain control of the party but haven't got the nous required to argue their case, unlike JRM.

I doubt this result will stand. Particle physics is full of 3 and 4 sigma results (even 5 sigma results) that evaporate upon further research. Of course climate science is no where near as settled as particle physics. Not in the same ballpark. However, this shouldn't blind us to the fact that there is indeed such a thing as settled science and that consensus is a major part of science - in fact it is essential to scientific progress, as it is the basis for what scientists around the world do every day. Without consensus research could not build on previous results.

Ironic that it is the Muslims being 'Borged' this time. This is the usual Hanisation process which has been done to dozens of non-Han populations within China. They 'ship in' tens or hundreds of thousands of Han Chinese who become a sizeable minority (or even majority) and through hard work and commercial astuteness (often missing in the more primitive cultures) end up running the show. The countries surrounding China contain the remnants of non Han Chinese who have been squeezed out of their own lands.
