So true. Their offense is losing games for them right now, not their pitching. But still the Mets need another starting pitcher for their rotation if they want to be contenders. Santana, Pelfrey, Niese and Dickey is a nice four, but they need another person. Takahashi needs to be in the bullpen and Perez is awful, so he can't start. With the offense, they can't really improve much besides second base and getting rid of Castillo would be hard. Like you said, everyone needs to step their game up.

Might need to call the box office, but I'm pretty sure the Mets have policy that you can exchange the tickets for a game at a later date. They most likely will have you pick from a select number of games. Like, you can't pick a game against the Phillies or Braves. The game would also probably need to be during the week.

Yeah, that's a good point. There is no way they get the level of talent they should for guys like Beltran, Wright, and Reyes that they should. I like Francoeur though and I would like the Mets to keep him. Problem is he has to perform, and he's not doing that right now.

Yeah, of course they would never trade those four, and I'm against it. And why not rebuild like that? It's not the standard definition of rebuilding, but it certainly a way to rebuild. The team has money to spend, so why not just sign a couple guys to two or three year deals, while the prospects you got for Wright, Beltran, ect. develop in the minors?

Yeah, it all depends what the Mets want to do with Mejia. My opinion on him changed, and I think they should use him as a starter. They should just send him down to the minors to get his work in and the strengthen his arm back up so he can be a starter.

Did you compare Catalanotto to a DeRosa type player? I like Franky, but I would never take him over Murphy. Let's be honest here, Murphy doesn't have a future on this team as a starting player. Wright and Davis aren't going anywhere, there is no room for him in the outfield, and they have Havens and/or Tejada for future second baseman. What would they send him to AAA to do? He can help this team right now as the top pinch hitter off the bench and a good glove at first. Murphy won't be a starter with the Mets, he'll be a bench player.

The team has to go with whoever is performing better. If Davis is struggling, you can play Murphy there for a few games. But Davis is the first baseman for the future. If Murphy wants to win back the spot, he's needs to play outstanding, along with Davis struggling.
