The town is in Conn...so thats half the problem...and the next door neighbor should get a visit from someone just to be advised that others, "Care" Growing up in a small mid-west town, this wouldn't have happened...things got HANDLED "behind the scenes"...sometimes... it's just a clarifying discussion that ends up with resolution, other times...people end up changing there minds for , uhm, no good reason but that they have reconsidered... I really miss those days...in the end, this lady would have her driveway back...cant believe there arent some "respectable" persons out there that can help "negotiate" this....

Okay, boys and girls...let us put this into a different perspective...your child gets hit by a car...(The parent should also be aware of their child's wherebouts...)...the child is struck... ...for the sake of this argument...the child lives...and you recieve the notice from State Farm that your child damaged the bumper of the car and must pay damages... Now then...let's put this into perspective...what ever happened with the notion that the MOTORIST SHOULD BE IN CONTROL OF THEIR VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES? My point is, save the high functioning morons that have posted on this board that will never listen and to defend those whose children have been struck by cars...insurance companies are a fraud and a scam artists...whether it be Home, Automobile, or Medical...they should all be 100% non-profit to ensure conflicts of interest are abolished... Actually , Joe Six pack, if you knew your rights, you would not have to speak(drivers license and proof of insurance is all that is required). There weren't any disturbance of peace reports, nor probable cause for an alcohol or drug toxicity report, therefore the bare minimum is all that was required. Anything you say CAN and WILL be used against you in a court of law. Idle speculation and theory are what provide the revenue for trash mags like TMZ and National Enquirer to be able to continue business...that and mindless drones who purchase or read them.

Not exactly. I have been in reduced drama-ridden situation similar to this in the past, and he DOESN'T have to discuss with Police. The very worst that can be derived from this is a Moving Vehicle Violation, nothing more. He will replace the fire hydrant and settle out with the neighbors regarding the tree. Moral high horses are ALWAYS able to jab their bony fingers at everyone else except themselves. Incendiary comments about "being a man" and getting YOUR respect are ridiculous and absurd. Unless he receives checks from YOU or anyone else like you, it is none of anyone's business especially from people who call out law enforcement or a private citizens right to privacy.
