"UKIP had a poor week last week with the media and us giving as much publicity as possible to their flooding religious nutter."

Perhaps the electorate picked up on the information that the "flooding religious nutter" had been a Conservative member and elected representative for a very long time .... and decided that he was YOUR nutter, rather than UKIP's.

Perhaps the Conservative Party and their tame lackeys in the MSM will eventually learn that "playing the man" isn't working when it comes to UKIP and is also very bad policy since it ensures that ex Tory voters who have defected to UKIP will never come back. Why return to a Party that is a bully.

I don't support the LibDems, but it is generally accepted that they are usually active local representatives. And because of that, once they get elected they tend to get dug in and are hard to shift

A Conservative MEP.

The idea that Labour is responsible for this disaster is laughable.

It's a joint LibLabCONsensus disaster.

I'll answer it.

Every REAL Conservative should write to Tory HQ and explain that they intend joining and voting UKIP.

They should then do it.

Propping up a failing Party with a disastrous Leader is pointless. Country first, Elaine.

We can hold our own Government to account and vote it out if we choose.

We can't hold the appointed Eurocrats and unelected Kommissars to account for anything. They are above Democracy .... as was always the intention.

We can hold our own Government to account.

We can't hold the appointed Eurocrats and unelected EU Kommissars to account for anything. They are completely immune from the Democratic process.

Which is how they intended it to be.

The so-called "Broach church" of Conservatism can't be held together. The extremes are too far apart.

One side wants liberal/conservative social democratic policies foisted on the electorate - including enforced EU membership and capitulation to the ECHR.

The other side wants a return to Sovereign Democracy; a curtailment of the ECHR and traditional Conservative policies, updated for the 21st century.

In-between is a chasm ....... and the CONservative Party is going to fall down into it in 2015.

We need a realignment in British politics and it may well happen (at last) after the General Election. The choice is no longer Left v Right. It's now EU v Independence.

Precisely. Cameron would rather see Labour win or a LibLab Alliance, than do what is necessary to win back the support of the working class Tories who have deserted the party.

The most important thing to the Elite running this country (and the Conservative Party) is that the EU Train Stays On The Rails With the UK Onboard.
