Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/3 Hummer Sold To CHINA??? Uh-Oh.

Obama doesn't want GM to make Hummers because they are gas guzzlers and have a large "carbon footprint". Someone please tell me... If they are made in China do either of those things change? What does change is the fact that even more American jobs and manufacturing is lost.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/27/09 So, Just Who Is Judge Sotomayor?

This type comment brings us down to the level of the liberals. A true conservative would not wish anyone harm simply because we disagree with them. They would however expect that she be held accountable for her actions and statements of the past. As a Supreme Court nominee she deserves to fail by 100 - 0 vote. She earned that with her own hatred and egotism. As a person, I hope her diabetes is NOT anything that damages the quality of her life.

Criticizing someone of a minority status is NOT racist. In fact it is just the opposite. When you judge people the same, regardless of their "grouping" you are being fair. When you hesitate to criticize someone that is a philosophical failure simply because they belong to a minority group - THAT is being racist. There are likely dozens, if not hundreds of Hispanic, female judges that would be fantastic choices for the Supreme Court. The criticism of Sotomayer is a reflection of her own bigotry and inferior qualification to be on the Supreme Court. It has no reflection on Hispanics or women in general.

Not accurate on two points. 1) Yes we can stop her. All we need is for the 7 republicans on the judicial committee to show some backbone and not allow her name to go forward. 2) The statement that G. Bush 41 appointed her may be true but it very misleading. In NY politics the two Senators have had an agreement for many years. When judgeships opens up, they divide the reccomendations between them. Sotomayer was actually picked by the democrat Senator Moynahan. Bush just approved the package presented to him as a recommendation of the Republican Senator.

Judge Sotomayer is an embarrasment to the Hispanic community! Hispanics need to band together and demand that their Senators press the President to replace Sotomayer with a Hispanic judge that represents the values of the Hispanic community. Perhaps someone should run spanish language ads in Latino communities to be sure everyone understands what a disgrace she would be as the first Hispanic representative on the court.

Are you naive enough to believe it's "FREE" if the govt pays? If the govt pays the cost will be 5x as high and you will pay in taxes rather than premiums. Also the care we all get will be "good enough for govt work". I understand your position with a huge bill but we can't bury our head in the sand and make believe the govt can do it for free. The health care system has billions in regulated costs. If we really want to fix the system we need to address each issue that is artificailly driving costs up. If we do that your $1300 bill would drop to something reasonable. If we just ask Uncle Sam to pick up the tab, it will be run as well as everything else they do. The cost will be 5x the private industry costs and the quality will be piss poor.

The difference between an accident and murder is the fact that one is a deliberate choice for personal gain. Rationing health care? You will find rationing in EVERY country that has socialized health care but not the United States. The limits to obtaining health care in the US is ability to pay for it, but it is not rationed as it is in countries where it is govt run. If we ever get serious about fixing whats broken in the health care system in the US - such as paying for illegal immigrants, unreal lawsuits, etc. we can address the ability to pay issue for those that need help. But simply having the govt pay for it all, or "buying" insurance for everyone is a phoney solution that truely does force rationing.

If you think abortion is a religious issue, you fell for the brainwashing of the left. Yes, by definition most truely religios people are opposed to abortion - but that's simply because murder is wrong. The real issue is that one person should not be allowed to kill another for their own benefit. make no mistake, science has proven that at the moment of conception, unique DNA is formed. In other words, a separate human being. People who are victims of violent crimes always pay for the rest of their lives. If they are killed or maimed or made pregenant, they suffer. But does that give them the right to kill an innocent human being?

Glenn, Perhaps the best way to repair the republican party is to start a new party. I know there are third parties out there now and they never do well, but what I am suggesting is different. We need a Conservative Party that gets a spot on EVERY congressional ballot in he country. Rather than list their own candidates, they should interview the republican candidate. If the republican commits to a select list of conservative policies, then their name would appear on both the republican and conservative party lines on the ballot. If they do not commit, then the conservative party should put up their own candidate. Hopefully in those cases, the liberal republican will split the vote with the democrat. If not, at least we purge the liberal republicans. As more voters pull the conservative lever, the republican party will be forced to either snap back into place, or fold.

Your lead in question asked about health care. All evidence proves we have the best system in the world, but it is broken. The troubles fall in a multitude of areas, so just finding someone else to pay for it will not solve the problem. To fix the health care crisis it needs to be broken down into component parts, and a different fix defined for each part. For example, how much is the average doctor's malpractice insurance per year? Divide that by 2080 and you will see how much less per hour a doctor can charge if the lawsuits weren't so out of line. Along with that, how many unnecessary tests are done just to cover in case of lawsuits? How much is added to our medical bills to cover for illegal immigrants? If the government wants them covered they should do it openly rather than causing the average persons bills to go up. How about creating a surplus of doctors, and reducing the cost of medical education? Perhaps states can open medical schools to ANYONE that can maintain the current strict standards of becoming a doctor. There would be no upfront costs, but in return, the doctor can be required to dedicate 1 day a week to “pro bono” work for the needy.

Your Tea Party special last night on Fox News was an eye opener. If I understood your point correctly, you are taking the position that politics in this country has become so corrupted that it is now more important to fix the system than worry about how we fix individual issues. Once we get the system working the way the Constitution intended it, we can go back to debating whether we fix a specific problem by doing this or by doing that. The media has successfully managed us by dividing us into two groups, and having us argue over which side is good and which side is bad. Instead, we need to see Americans divided into four basic groups. 1)Decent Liberals 2) Decent Conservatives 3) Self serving Liberals 4) Self serving Conservatives Most decent people care about the same things in life. We want this country to continue to be the best place on earth to live. The difference between decent liberals and decent conservatives is in the solutions we believe will get us there. Usually the best answers come out of open honest debate. Unfortunately open, honest debate is no longer part of our political landscape. It has been replaced by political manipulations.

I hope all decent Americans will follow your lead and focus on fixing our political mess rather than worrying about “which side” they are on. The Constitution is a guarantee to the people of America. If what it says can be ignored or manipulated, then it guarantees nothing.
