An unauthorized flotilla of 6 massive ships (which was warned not to enter the area) entered the area. Rather than sinking the ship that didn't comply (which is what virtually any other sovereign nation would do), Israel decided to use the least force possible and send a small number of soldiers aboard via helicopter. 3. The second the soldiers were aboard, they were brutally attacked. They were hit with metal rods, chairs, attacked w/ knives, and thrown from the top deck to the deck below. Had they done nothing they would have been killed. 4. Fearing for their lives, the soldiers used their guns in self-defense. 9 or 10 so-called "activists" were killed, but not before 7 Israeli solders were seriously injured. 5.
