AMG will postpone production of the Taxi cabs until the Humvee contracts expire in November and then just ship all of those $100k plus employees over there!!! Stick it to the guy making 50k right? Seems like they would want to do it the other way around, but then as was stated, our president Don Tabor wouldn't have his wife or step-daughter working, would he?
All about the politics there!!!

If there is no flame, how can it catch on fire?
That is their thinking. It can be a real pain in the arse to clean that stuff up, but you gotta take care of it to prevent something bad from happening.
As I stated at the end of my first post, I hope they have good insurance and can rebuild soon. I was not saying that in a negative way, but in a serious way. I would hate for someone to lose a business because of an accident, especially in these times.
I don't believe I fired first, and you don't believe the opposite. I suppose we can both just agree to disagree on that and move on. We both agree that there is no sense in continuing an argument, or attacking each other over something that neither of us is an expert.
I just hope that ONE person reads all of this and realizes the dangers that could be.
I will be interested in finding out the cause of this fire, and will continue to monitor this story. Hopefully it was a wiring failure or something uncontrollable.

Since when are we not allowed to share our personal experiences on here in hopes of helping other people understand the dangers of something?
The point behind my post was simply to help others realize dangers involved in such an industry, and perhaps to save someone else from having an accident in their own home. Do you know how many people don't read the back of a can when they finish something in their garage? Or the ones that do read it and don't think it is a threat? It is a major threat, and needs to be taken seriously.
Again, I am no expert, and neither are you. I was only trying to help, but you OBVIOUSLY know better than to take advice from someone who has experience.

Just because your family has had work done from there and they are "very professional" doesn't mean accidents don't happen. Where I worked was professional. It is not something to be taken lightly. However, if you have a new guy and they forget, or don't seem to think it is a serious threat, they could easily put a rag soaked with finish and toss it into a pile with other rags. Once it sits for a couple of hours, it starts to build heat. It's not unusual to start that fire at night.
And you're right, it could be a number of things not pertaining to cabinet making, but given the time the fire started, and the type of facility, I would easily give it a 60-70% chance that it was combustion of a rag due to the time frames that things usually happen. Someone probably cleaned up before they went home, and might have been tired and forgot. That's all it takes.
I don't think it is fair for you to assume what you have just based on the fact that you have had work done from there. Have you ever experienced the effects of spontaneous combustion?

Many times people make a mistake by just leaving them in a pile. They can spontaneously combust. It doesn't take long to light a place up with all that sawdust and wood around.
Hopefully they have good insurance and can rebuild soon.
