If you are stuck on 4.0.2, there is no way to jailbreak it. So why not update to 4.1 and have a HDR camera and the Game Center? You can keep you baseband at 1.59.00 if you upgrade to 4.1 (like I have) if you require an unlock (which I dont) Either way, they have an exploit for 4.1, which means they will work on a JB for 4.1 not 4.0.2. If he were on 4.0/4.0.1 then what I said might have been different because you have a JB and unlock, etc. But he is on 4.0.2. Good luck with that :)

Now way to JB it currently. Just save your SHSH's for 4.0.2 with tinyUmbrella and then update to 4.1 without updating your baseband. 4.1 JB will be out soon, no point being stuck on 4.0.2....

I walked in the shops. Asked for an iPhone 4 32GB outright. Got it. Ran around the city for half an hour for my bank to withdraw $1000 (I was paying debit card) and walked back in and picked up my iPhone 4. So in total, If I had a credit card to pay with, It would have taken about half an hour at most. I wasnt waiting for 3 weeks just to get my iPhone 4.

Can't you just pay for the carrier unlock, you people are so cheap :| Or learn to buy your iPhone from somewhere else than the US stores? They are factory unlocked in Australia...

Hahaha. The jailbreak which you install through Cydia? The JB which you can also toggle on and off without restoring? FAKE!

The did sell me a factory unlocked in Australia :) But it was on 4.0.2 a 32GB was $999AUD. I wouldnt mind buying it through a carrier if I was on a plan, but in the last 3 months I have switched my provider twice now.

The basis of the idea is installing the JB software through the hole that wasnt patched by Apple. Hw Its done, I couldnt tell you to be honest. Your best bet is getting a twitter account and asking comex or planetbeing or MuscleNerd about it.

I meant wont* sorry for the misleading post. If you are on 4.0.2, you might as well update to 4.1. you cant JB 4.0.2 or 4.1 yet.

Mine gave an error just updating its baseband to 4.1 with my hosts file modified pointing to sauriks with 4.0.2 on file. I did have to kick it out of recovery though, Umbrella helped with that.

If you rely on an unlock in the future, stay clear of 4.1 If you dont need an unlock (eg, you are on ATT or you are factory unlocked) then feel free to update :) You can JB 4.0.2 anway, 4.1 wont effect much.

If anyone wants to update to 4.1 from 4.0.2 without a baseband update, read this: http://thefirmwareumbrella.blogspot.com/2010/09/t... It is really quite easy to do.
