The reason for the backup: Years ago they closed off several roads (all of them) on 5th Ave NE (from NE 105th to NE 100th and beyond).The net result was that all traffic had to re-route to NE Northgate Way. Further, the WSDOT --- near the same time removed access from west-bound NE Northgate Way to south on 1st Ave NE... again, causing the only viable south-bound route in the area to be 5th Ave NE, again backing up traffic.

The solutions they are planning for won't fix the problems. For example: the two lanes going south from west NE Northgate Way will have problems with the bus stop adjacent to the Key bank. Once drivers figure out that there is a ~ 50% chance that the lane won't move, no one will use it. And for those who get stuck in the intersection (behind the bus) when the light changes, God help them.

I know where... there is a building across the street from "The Cosmopolitan building" in down town - that location has a nice plaza. That would be a great place! </sarcasm>

This gold was written off over 110 years ago. For them to come back and say we want you are working to bring up is unconscionable. "He said Ocean Mar under a contract would pay the Salvage Association of London 25 percent of the value ..."

Given this, I'd be tempted to leave 25% down there, and tell them exactly where they could stick it, er pick it up at.

Though I agree that contractor's "cant warranty a house forever"; three years (or even 6) is not enough to uncover many building errors. For example -- foundation settling can start after 5 years. I've found (so far) three 'errors' in my own house where the building deliberately covered concealed mistakes made. My opinion: Willful concealment / improper building techniques should have no statute of limitations. (For example - in this case if the builder new that he was using sub-standard wood, he pays to fix the problem). All new construction should have a minimum 7 year warranty (mandatory). Notice that the Building Industry (lobbyists) has fought this long and hard.

Though I'm not at 99 weeks, I'm not getting responses to my applications. I more than exceed the min # of job applications, customize my resume, change my resume, and update my resume', follow up....

And no response. The 'best' response I've received so far is: "You are a bit overqualified for this position."

Hell, I'm applying to the position... I want the DAMM job!
