I not only think this guy may be mentally ill, but very likely he's never been to BOulder.

Above, he called Folsom a "side St." and 28th St., "Highway 36."

Thanks. Not only do they not have snow, but Folsom (and neighboring streets ALREADY had bike lanes)....whereas here they were adding them.

Good of the Mayor to get some real data.

This is in reply to several posts above.

Right-sizing Supporters, ask yourself:

What is the point you are trying to make?
Do you really want to convince people that this a good idea that can help many people, or is this just an "in your face" thing to show off how much you can upset people.?

I'll phrase it a different way:
If I were a supporter, I'd be beyond embarrassed at what the supposed "supporters" here are posting. Hey supporters, with friends like these on this board, you don't need enemies.

The "foam" being posted here is HURTING your cause....a lot.

I am 99% sure that you not only don't live in Boulder, and that you have never been here!

I'm guessing you heard of this from the inner web and had to jump in.

I say this, because, even the BIGGEST supporters of right-sizing would NEVER:
1. Call Folsom a side street. Everyone here agrees it is a major artery. (The real discussion on both sides is how to divy up the lanes)
2. Call 28th St. "Hwy 36"
(I've noticed that Google Maps often calls a road by its official name, not the name that everyone uses).

I am a cyclist and driver and pedestrian. Why would I want to hurt someone?
(we have enough problems with cars vs bikes, that we don't need your rhetoric)

Look at the last few months and you will see MANY cyclists against this.

I'm proud of bike commuting over 10,000 miles since the late 1990's. Some commutes were 14 miles one way. I'm over 45 now.

And I know it is not for everyone. Way back in June, one of the speakers was a person who commuted from four mile canyon and said he was against it.

Calling me "infected" is rude and "foaming"....Don't you have a better argument?

FYI, I have a boring Forester. My ex-bike racing neighbor who does not like this has a Honda Fit. In fact almost every rider I know who dislikes this, has a Subie, Prius, or other typical Boudler car.

Community destruction???? exaggerate much? How do you expect stuff to get delivered to stores?

Boulder is FULL of wonderful bike lanes.

You say:
"open your mind" I am "infected" and "entitled"
And you say Folsom is just a "side street"
And that we want to "pave every park"

You call 28th St running through Boulder "Highway 36"....I don't think you live here.

Folsom is major artery that relieves a lot of cars from 28th St....traffic is worse since this.

So are the following groups "entitled" to want to drive:
1. People above 60 and/or with medical conditions?
2 People who live more than 5 miles from work and/or have to do errands right after work.
3. A parent who does multiple errands with two kids, especially when the weather is below 45 or above 80?

And FOLSOM had bike lanes before this.

In fact NO ONE AT ALL IS TALKING ABOUT INCREASING PLACES FOR CARS TO DRIVE....We just want back waht we had a few months ago.

Yada, yada. Your insults ("foaming") and lack of understanding about the real world are actually borderline scary.

Hey everyone: Counter Protest! Let's make sure the Camera is there:

Everyone try to drive Folsom, or the intersection between 5 and 6 that day. Leave work early. If you avoided Folsom the last few months, use it on Wednesday.

What could be a better backdrop for their protest, than to have non-stop bumper to bumper traffic.

(And if you do this, be POLITE, to other drivers and riders. We want to show it's a bad Idea, we do not want to come across as the "foaming" jerks)

I'm just glad the Camera emphasized that the current council has done such a poor job. I hope this increases voter turnout, which tends to hurt incumbents.

This editorial emphasized: The curent council listened to each other, not the people and tried to force ideas on us.
