Breitbart.com : Texting increases crash risk 23 times: study

Nice Idea, but what about those people - for example that live in NYC - don't own a car - but take taxi s, limo's and buses? It is simple - just make phone records -i.e. activity available for the 5 minutes prior and 10 minutes after a Motor vehicle accident. Make the penalties as stiff as they are for Drunk Driving - (just as dangerous - but harder to hide if your wasted - BAC is easy with a blood or breath test. That is one of the big problems with driving and Medical Marijuana - is when did you smoke last night or 20 minutes ago). I hate more legislation - we have too many rules and law as it is already. Yet I do believe in responsibilty and accountabilty if you kill someone behind the wheel. ( Drunk, texting or speeding.) Most people that get nailed for DUI/DWI it is after 8PM when fewer people and kids are in cars and on the road. I never got texting - except when you could'nt talk in a public place or needed discretion - otherwise it is so much simpler to talk on a phone as well as faster. In this technologically advanced age it seems like an archaic step backwards - like a telegram to communicate. Even though I am visual person rather than an auditory person ( It is easier for me to understand something written than spoken.)

Breitbart.com : Obama says he continues to believe there was an \'overreaction\' in arresting Harvard\'s Gates.

My point while being a policeman is a dangerous job - it is blown out of proportion - In the first 6 months of this year in the US only 22 officers were killed in the US by citizens that is out of approximately 800,000 LEO (Law enforcement Officer) as of third quarter 2007. Most of the time in these Officer involved shootings we only have one side of the story - the Police. Many of these cops are "Rush" or "Adrenalin junkies". Just remember this when our lawmakers pass more and more socialistic and fascistic laws, as we progress down the road to communism - the "new brown shirts" -that enforce these laws and take away our guns, our freedoms and our liberties - the first line of these "brown shirts" will be the "boys in blue" - that just enforce the law - that is their job to enforce the law. So while you might be a "Cop-Hugger" or Badge Bunny today, you will just be a repressed citizen tomorrow, so this little schism between Cops and the White house is not all bad - a little division might slow it down. Those that don't study history are doomed to repeat it.

1. So a Private Citizen has to "Shut up" in his castle or his residence? 2. It was his Home since it was his Residence - No matter, if he owned, rented or was living at a friends house - it was still his home. 3. I didn't vote for POTUS Obama - or for McCain -but I see that you are a racist or at least spout racist slur's calling POTUS an "Ilegal raghead".

For every one cop that is killed by a citizen, 31 citizens are killed by cops in America. Since 1970 (US Pop 200 Million. Now in 2009 300+ million. Yet the number of Cops has tripled, police deaths have decreased. Everyday US cops are becoming more like third world cops.

I read the Police report on TSG yesterday. The 3rd page entered by Officer Figuora said under case title " DISORDERLY CONDUCY" can't even spell. Officer Figuora states that he arrived after officer Crowely - he was inside already talking with Gates. Yes, Cops are above reproach and never ever lie. FYI : In America the only time you are required legally to provide Identification - to board an Airplane and if you are operating a Motor vehicle. 4th Amendment. I guess that you would have us be like communist country where we have to show our papers to cross the border.

At least I am thinking. A few great book's - "Hologram of Liberty", "Molôn Labé! ", "Boston on Guns & Courage" and "Boston's Gun Bible" - Written by Pseudonym : Boston T. Party printed by Javelin Press. The American legal system - is an Industry and big business. Sorry I am not the good little worker bee that has been indoctrinated to follow the masses.

Gee, I guess that because a police officer - wrote it in a report- then it must be true. They must have super- powers of observation - that are never wrong. I guess no officer has ever been fooled by an optical illusion or made a mistake in what they thought that they said or heard. American's have been brainwashed by the slew of Cop's and Court's TV show's - it seems that we have been lobotomized and can't think for ourselves anymore- I guess that if you believe that the word of the officer is infallible - I bet that you believe every thing you hear and read from the Media. Funny we are a Nation based on Judio-Christian principals - but show me the Cop's and the Police force in the Bible - God wrote the 10 Commandments with HIS finger on the stone tablet's and Moses hand wrote out the 613 law's mainly on personal interaction between one another. One of which required a 2nd witness -

As much as it pain's me to agree with the President. Think about it? What thief is going to hang-out and not take off when another stranger shows up at a house that He/She is burglarizing? Is it the home owner or a Cop? Yes, the problem with America's "InJustice" legal system is that the Cops, can get paid Big buck's for their over-time - a Simple arrest = 4 hours over-time - going to court for an arrest later and all the other paper work involved another 4-6 or even more of overtime. Used to be people joked about cops getting their Quota of speeding or parking tickets - now instead of "moon-lighting" they just arrest someone and a few hours overtime is equal to 8 hours of normal paid moonlighting gig. Should Gate's have been arrested in his "Castle"? No. I would have "trespassed" the officer. We have a Million plus law's in America from US Code, to State, County, City and municipalities in America. Yep it seem's we are a Police state. We have so many law's telling us what we can and can't do. When and Where. Freedom in America is an Allusion. Welcome to "Police-Nanny State". As much as it pain's me to agree with the President - the Police acted stupidly, the officer aggravated the situation by staying, when it would be obvious to a common person that the person present was apparently the resident. Again what burglar is going to hang around when a stranger show's up and doesn't back down when confronted? Think that a Cop who is a Sergeant with 16+ years - can't tell the difference between a Perp and a law abiding citizen - that is BS.
