John, if you're still with us, do you remember quibbling with my comment about the vote of 6 Liberal providing a majority for EEC entry in principle; saying you thought there were 8? Well I can't remember the exact arithmetic but Emlyn Hooson voted against so 7:1 vote gives a majority of 6. That's how I remember it!

I wrote a longish explanation and was just about to end by saying that the page refresh problem had not gone away - it not leaving the cursor back at the place it left from - when it refreshed and lost the lot. So: -

By pure coincidence, I was about to provide a C&P of the comment for you, and in trying to find my place in the thread came across this from you. And Lo and Behold below it is the very comment from Bardirect.

Understood. I have asked Bardirect if 'we' may use his analysis which is why I added "with permission". Until I get that, it would be poor form to provide a link.

Do you know, back in the day when we used snail mail, one could write to a Minister and get a written reply. I queried the efficacy of the Treasury Model and suggested how it could be verified. I got a reply from Richard (now sir) Benyon himself. Social media has its benefits but also downsides.

Assuming that this is not a rhetorical question a have to decode it before I can reply. It seems that you think there is a cost of preparing for WTO Brexit (on top of the ongoing cost)? Well there should be and spreadsheet Phil had a war chest for this very purpose. My analysis has nothing to do with that process, but to correct you, 10% of GDP is in excess of £100bn and the war chest is nothing like this scale.

The national debt is an element of a National Balance sheet which has two columns one for Assets the other for Liabilities. These cancel (balance) each other. It is not a debt as one would normally understand the word. It is for that reason commentators claim that the national economy is not like running a home. (remember that claim?)

My point is that without ANY increase in borrowing WTO Brexit provides funds to pay for Social Care. This is point 8 of my analysis above. It comes from a penal tax on those who, despite the price rise (tax), continue to purchase EU goods. Does that clarify it for you?

But even he/she may not be fully aware of the details, ERG simply indulging in a form of "group think". Bardirect's analysis might add weight to the matter. Until I read it, I was guilty of that. Apart from the backstop, I had believed what TM had said in Parliament, although granted, ERG members would not have been THAT naive.

Now why didn't the author do that?

Listen to this; it's gold dust! But I do not see how with the present Parliament (even with the Government under new management) we could get such legislation enacted. And for the record, I'm not calling for it.
