Lute was aloof. Alford was self-righteous. Lickliter is very engaging in person. The list is misleading. Crawford barely made it to Iowa the first time. Rumors had him leaving before Alford split. Bohall and Wessels were walk-ons. Palmer is at his third school and Davis at is fourth school, so their track record prior to Iowa was not all that impressive. Smith and Kelly were motivated by personal tragedies, though I think when Neal left Smith was going anyway. Only Freeman and Peterson seemed to be driven by something else.
