UCSB has always been ultra-Lib. Fifteen years ago my son was student in Ventura JC, primarily for water polo and swimming. He ended up pretty much benched first year because of some out of country students, there for water polo as well. But he shined swimming, and competed at a state level. We were all over UCSB campus several times for swim meets. I flagged them as Marxist back then, looks like Islamo-Marxist now. Very disgusting to waste what could be a quality institute of education on crap like they do.

Well stated. By success of this mission, it shows how wrong our POTUS has been since 20 Jan 2009. Had he closed Gitmo as he was striving for, we never would have learned of this. His TV speech to We The People last night showed Obama was trying to claim much more credit for this mission than is really due him. We me on west coast, midnight my time, thousands still rocking Ground Zero, Times Square, and White House. Just the thing cellphones were made for, to call in sick Monday morning at work, just find a quiet spot to call from first. ;-)

As a Conservative/Libertarian, registered Republican for voting ease, WE DO NOT BELONG IN LIBYA. I see we have leftie extremists protesting this WAR In Libya from Los Angeles last weekend. Please don't confuse me with them - I keep short hair if not on haircut strike, and the only 'protests' I've done was some Tax Day Tea Party events, to monmitor with camera for security purposes - Tea Party Patriots RULE! We arein Libya solely at the WHIM of the UN, Arab League, and a very misguided Barack Hussein Obama. First of all, the UN needs to pack up and get out of New York, permanently! Secondly, the Arab League needs to pay our expenses this exercise in toto. Obama declares WAR on Libya, and same day disappears down to Rio for Spring Break with family! Do us all a favor, and stay there!!! Then we need to look at the makeup of the "rebels" in Libya that we are "helping" - we seem to have a good amount who are al-Qaeda who fought against Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan. Go figure - and good move Mr President. Now we have NATO taking over command of WAR In Libya, and I'm sure we'll have all US troops involved reporting to the Canadian NATO commander over there, announcement should be tomorrow. This is all WRONG! And based on this, we do not belong there at all!

I think I'm in agreement with Swindle's editorial here. And think when a small element like the Gay Community is looking for 'special favors' from our heterosexual community it needs to be ripped to shreds.. Though last I checked, our 'gay community' constituted around less that 10% of American citizens, they sure aren't shy about being OUTSPOKEN. I have a 'gay' nephew, and really hope my sis doesn't see this reply, but gay nephew is generally fine, with the exception of his STUPID looking earrings. As they are less that 10% of population, they have no authority to impose sh*t from Shinola on us. But we have another aspect associated with this that irritates the hell out of me. I am diseased with hepatitis C, I've been thru the pharmaceuticals for this disease twice, I was declared non-responder both times. Maybe in another 10 years we might have some medication more proper for this disease. And though we have many more diseased with Hepatitis than with HIV/AIDS, we have tons of government sponsored research and more being directed to HIV/AIDS. Last I investigated, HIV/AIDS was normally a lifestyle issue, my personal research on ME shows I was infected with Hepatitis by a doctor in 1991/2. I accept just fine I'm diseased with Hepatitis C, and manage as best I can. I am greatly offended our gay community draws as much attention to, and research to, HIV/AIDS. But bottom line, if our 'gay community' isn't looking to impose special rights for themselves, they're welcome anywhere!
