Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Colorado football: Buffs hang tough, but fall to No. 17 UCLA - Buffzone

I was at the game. Unless Sefo learns to actually run with the ball, we will not progress. Connor Wood was more decisive than Sefo with regards to throwing the ball or tucking and running. And Wood might actually be faster.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Colorado football: Buffs\' Wood looks at himself in search for answers - Buffzone

I think part of the problem is that Wood is looking to Richardson on every play. Note: in the last 2 games, 2 passes have been completed to our TEs.

Perhaps Rick has grown as a person... Non the less, someone in the football program should have smacked him in the face to remind him who he was as an arrogant thirty something year old back in the day.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Phil DiStefano says it was his decision to part way with CU Buffs AD Mike Bohn - Buffzone

This was clearly Benson's decision. How recently was Bohn's contract renewed? Someone with more time than me should go back and get some recent quotes from Phil/Bruce about how much they support Bohn - it would make for a good laugh. Don't get me wrong, I have said for five years that Bohn is the wrong guy for the job simply based on his lack of success at his prior institutions but frankly, all three seem to be the problem and the Regents should wipe the slate clean. Any new AD better be able to "manage up" or we are hosed.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: Hilliard defends CU Buffs\' process - Buffzone

I think Hilliard missed the key point of the much of the criticism which is that we essentially wasted a critical week by not concurrently targeting and interviewing candidates #2 and #3. We should have been in position to pull the trigger on #2 immediately after Jones said no just like Purdue did with their search. Instead, we are almost back at day one of the search while the candidate pool shrinks because other schools are picking them off.

Oops! Bohn gets caught once again not thinking at least one, two, three steps ahead. Boxed CU into a corner and got played. Can't wait to hear the spin. We should have had a coach interviewing each of the last three days so we were in position to pull the trigger on number two by this evening, and number three by tomorrow evening if needed.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Jon Embree: Probably still have job if white - Buffzone

Very sad move Jon. Very sad. Some career advice, over the last 48 hours you have single handedly managed to position yourself as a future discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen. Right or wrong, that is how future employers will perceive you. Take your $1.6MM, lay low for a year and do some critical self evaluation on your head coach shortcomings. Build on those shortcomings, and prove CU wrong when you're the head coach of a top 25 BCS program in the future.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Football: Bill McCartney blasts CU Buffs for Jon Embree firing - Buffzone

Mac attack is way off base. Forget what you see in Embree or hear about him - look at the football team we have watched on the field for the last two years. 4 wins, 21 losses with many of them complete and absolute blowouts. This team was getting worse, not better. Embree's solution = magically switch to a zone read option offense for year 3. But I thought we were a power running offense (remember "just like Stanford") - isn't that why EB is the O coordinator? Who on Embree's staff knows anything about a zone read option offense? How many of the players recruited in the last 2 years were brought because they excel at the zone-read? The logic of it simply does not hold water. Now let's talk defense. The CU defense was statistically the worst in all of Div-1 football. Period, end of story. Embree is a great Buff, but he and much of his staff were ill suited and completely inexperienced for the positions in which they were placed.

Buffzone.com: CU sports from the Daily Camera : Downward spiral: Once a powerhouse, CU football falls to BCS basement - Buffzone

299, you can't rewrite history. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=36311... Also read what I said. I didn't say I wanted to run Bohn out of town after the loss to Alabama. I said Bohn should not have given Hawn an extension in year two after a mediocre performance. One more thing, the Pac X came calling on us. Bohn simply went through the motions.

299, I think you need to read it again. Hawk was given a contract extension in 2008. At the end of the 2009 season, Bohn wanted to fire hawk but was overruled by Benson due to the perceived financial implications of a buyout. There would have been a diminimus buyout, and not the 2 plus million dollar one that Benson had a problem wirh at the end of 2009 had Bohnhead not extended hawk a year earlier.

"From day one", Bohn is the one common link to CU's failure. The University has gone through multiple Presidents and Chancellors. Bohn fired Barnett then gave the keys to a blue collar salesman who brought in his high school coaching friends from Boise. Where was Bohn when the team consistently under achieved? Finally Bohn decides to do his job but is unable to manage up and gets overruled by Benson. Bohn needs to simply look in the mirror to see where things went wrong with CU football. Unfortunately, I don't think he cares. He certainly has never shown leadership or a passion for winning and success. He is consistent though - laying low, not ruffling any feathers and doing just enough to keep his job and achieve the low expectations set by his boss.

Blame lies with Mike Bohn for extending Hawkins 3-4 years ago and Benson/DiStephano for not allowing Bohn to fire Hawk a year earlier and for their apparent general lack of support for the Athletic Dept. This will take time and we will be competitive again but until Bohn and Benson are gone, we will not get back to the glory days.
