Forum, and discussion mean to debate the issues, not who we are or why we are here. And I have not heard one word of what, if anything in my note above is untrue or not correct. I as, a conservative and an economist take great pride on standing on the facts. I am fully immersed in the language, the news - all sides of media in Hungary, so I am confident that what I observe and express are correct. What I say is based on numbers and trends. Based on those we can form opinions and proceed with discourse, Sir.

I have no idea who the other chaps are, Sir, or anyone around this paper. I only signed up because it is about Hungary, otherwise I did not know this paper. Orban's opposition is a clear majority in Hungary. In the last election, he got 42% of the vote, 58% voted against him. So to me it is no surprise that three persons out of that 58% got upset when they saw this one sided article, that actually depict him as a conservative. If you think Orban is a good guy you will be up for a huge surprise when he faces his corruption charges.

We will see what history says. He could do both - defend against illegals and build democracy. Hungary would deserve both. But he is driven by his ego and greed. He cannot be removed from his seat, so we will see where he finishes. And how. Not with peaceful election, I am afraid.

Orban is not conservative. He is more of a communist - builds huge state, his apparatus is far bigger than any Hungary has seen, controls and redistributes 52% of GDP. He demolishes free capitalism by giving - not in a competitive way - to his cronies hundreds of billions, making virtually illiterate amateurs the richest people in the country. overnight. He is by far the most corrupt politician in Europe. Thus he is by far the richest person in the country - and never worked outside of politics. Putin can learn from him. His father was not, as the article says, an entrepreneur, but a communist party boss. Orban - also a former youth communist secretary, then later liberal and atheist - gave him the first billions when he sold the headquarters of his party. Then he gave him government businesses on a scale that made his father - thus himself too - a multi billionaire. Orban says all those things against immigrants, but he himself let in more than 20 thousand (!!) of them by selling state bonds and making his friends , again, billionaires in the process. He also , on top, in secret, last year let in 1300 migrants, while saying he will never bend under EU pressure to accept 1294 refugees. Being conservative, who I am, means working for lean government, free enterprise, protect private ownership, transparency, honesty, while keeping individual rights high as well as protecting individuals from the government. Orban is none of those. He is a crook, who is using what for him means- as you say - God sent migrant crisis to create an enemy based upon which he can build his authoritarian system which we only saw under the Bolsheviks.
