Typical behaviour of this government. They have gone several steps farther in exacerbating the corruption they accused the previous Liberal government of.

"RCMP commissioner will step down " Thank goodness. The last two commissioners were disasters. Elliot did nothing to improve the situation. However a commissioner from inside the force may not be a good idea. He may have bias for the RCMP and not place the peoples' interests in priority.

I believe in democracy. The majority of members of Parliament should form the government. Which party they belong to has no relevance. BTW, for the last 5 years we've had a coalition. There is nothing wrong with coalitions as long as they make up the majority.

Macleans.ca : Canada on verge of deporting man who brought a tyrant to justice

The Harper government has no interest in human rights, justice or democracy. They allow our soldiers to turn prisoners over to be tortured. They allow our citizens to be held and tortured in US jails. They send those who attack corruption and fight for justice and human rights to countries where they most likely will be tortured and killed Many Canadians say as long as it doesn't happen to me, who cares? That's exactly the way Harper wants it.

Macleans.ca : The Commons: Lawrence Cannon's lips are sealed

"To understand why is to get at perhaps the central paradox of so much about this place and these times: the serious, complex nature of modern problems set against the increasingly simplistic, largely evasive way we seem compelled to talk about those problems." It is not complex. It is very simple. Are we humane or are we not? The answer is a hundred times more relavent when it involves children. We should not turn enemy soldiers or hardened criminals over to the possibliity of torture, Never mind children. It is just not civilized. It's not even humane.

It a silly question. i don't know if Khadr is dangerous. Williams isn't now. What is far more dangerous than either or both is a government that violates the human rights of anyone, but especially their own citizen.
