He goes after bad guys - corporate or otherwise - through the 2 central characters. He is not holding Salander up as an ideal. She is a very flawed and damaged person with a strong sense of personal justice. I felt the second film left one a little unsatisfied, but it's a great series overall. Very American in the sense that you root for the underdog - Salander. Kontrol was weird but delightful.
