Yes, less Ellen more Alia. Plus those Turtles are just disturbing... granted these are mutant turtles we are talking about but something feels very off with what seems to be an interpretation that is trying to make the mutation more "realistic". I applaud the effort, truely, a lot of it lies in the shape of the head and the way the masks are cut and draped.

/Film : Natalie Portman Cast in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan

Hmmm sounds almost like an Argento film, like a Suspiria or something... But seriously, what is this Noah's Ark bit about? That has me most intrigued and I'm not even of a Christian faith.

I'm sorry all I can think about from watching that trailer is when Marty McFly begins to disappear in Back to The Future... The effect for Bana dropping out of one time and place is an awfully lot like that... Was that the way it was presented in the book? I only got past the first chapter.

/Film : Lars Von Trier's Antichrist To Get Uncut UK release

Well I'm counting myself lucky to live in a coastal city where it WILL screen, but man, another reason to despise IFC. Are they concerned someone will rent it on demand not knowing what it is and then be outraged... But with a title like Antichrist. I can only assume that is the concern.

/Film : Shia LaBeouf No Longer Interested in Y: The Last Man?

I'm sure plenty of people have said it but... this is great news!!!! Shia never felt right for this to me. I don't have anything against the guy like some, just didn't feel like Yorick. Nor really looked the part either. Yorick is essentially a Peter Parker type, wisecracking for sure, a pop culture geek full of useless knowledge. And if Shia's using the "ordinary guy" remark as a negative then he doesn't get the character or the story, so good. And the age thing ain't an issue. In the books the brunt of the story goes from about age 22 - 28. Now we just need Caruso off the project.

And oohh only a few more year until he finishes up his long term project "Boyhood." Everything I've heard about "Me and Orson Welles" has been good, plus you'd figure they could capitalize on Efron.

Yeah he played it safe but that was to be expected. Overall, some solid laughs. In time the studio will hopefully feel less empty and stuffed full of patented Cone-bone quirks. Needed more Max and the band though, they cut way to quick to commercial.

Question for those who saw it in the Digital 3D theaters... What did the screen look like when not wearing the glasses? Still the slightly out of focus, color lined old 3D look? I'm asking because the 3D glasses don't work for me since I am blind in my left eye and most theaters in NYC are only showing it in Digital 3D.

/Film : Peter Laird Talks About Usi "Hybrid" Turtles in Live-Action TMNT Movie

The two producers for this live action reboot were at the "drive-in" screening of the original tonight in NYC, as was Kevin Eastman and the 1990 film director Steven Barron. Pretty cool they all showed up on this freezing night. Even cooler that about 800 fans were there and enjoyed the film. The first one is the only one of the three that holds up as a decent, fun flick. Elias Koteas forever!

/Film : Investors and Merchandisers Worried About Pixar's Up?

Well it's investors and marketers saying this stuff, no big surprise there. They think a certain way because they have certain needs and expectations; expectations that are usually very limited. Although the concern is somewhat understandable as "Up"'s storyline and characters do present some mainstream, youth marketing challenges. Most kids like their grandparents, right? and plenty watch Pixar films with their grandparents... so how can they do something with that in mind? Sure, it doesn't feature cuddly monsters, aquatic animals or living toys, but really... "Up" should still do well box-office wise, I think. Remember last year at this time people were waving flags of concern for WALL-E. Pixar's past three films have been more "out there" in concept, nor grossed 300 mil domestic but when you don't recycle your output, and actually continue to be imaginative, well, people get scared. No need to pigeon holed. I'd say with all the money they've reaped from their more initially commercial early projects, Pixar has enough clout still to say "story is king" even if that means "more of a feeling" than "linear storytelling."

Now here is a reason I come by the site. Very cool mention; saw some nice, refreshing pieces. Seinfeld and Freaks and Geeks are my faves from Peter's bunch. The Sunny piece is absolutely inspired. And I have a soft spot for most of the TMNT ones (excluding those weird human teen interpretations). Actually seems to be more of turtles than any other property.
