/Film : X-Men Origins: Wolverine TV Spot #1 - "Outcasts"

I thought X3 was decent. It's far from the car crash some people make it out to be. The main problem with it is that it's not X2. X2 corrected every problem with X-Men and delivered some more. It was thrilling, had some cracking set-pieces and cranked the story up several notches without betraying the atmosphere and nature of the story and characters. X3 didn't really have anything which hit the ball out of the park; so to speak, whereas X2 had loads of different elements all working in unison. As for this clip, I was feeling ok about the film before I saw this. I know it's a montage so it's edited to hell but it looked generic in look, confusing and I think that mini-trailer set the record for the most cheesy cliched lines of dialogue in a one minute clip.

/Film : I Love You, Beth Cooper Movie Trailer

Looks like Fox is continuing their fine run of the recent year or so.... I think James Cameron is about the only (decent) creative mind still working at Fox. And I can remember thinking The Girl Next Door was one of the better made teen comedies of the past few years, even if the concept was a familiar one. Tim Olyphant and Emile Hirsch gave breakout performances and Cuthbert hadn't and still hasn't been 'hotter' since then.

/Film : New Photo: On The Set of James Camon's Avatar

It's the best look yet, even if it isn't much. It's just nice to see James Cameron back doing sci-fi. He's probably the best science fiction director still alive and working in Hollywood. In my opinion, Cameron automatically gets complete confidence and trust for this project since (if we exclude Piranha 2 which he didn't have much control over) he has one of the most compelling directorial resumes, which is nigh on spotless and just darn impressive. Titanic may be iffy but some of the action sequences are fantastic and you only have to look at Australia to see how hard this romantic epic stuff can be to pull off, and he did pull it off for the most part. I know it's another picture of behind the scenes, and I'm/we're still looking for a good decent solid look at this film, my expectations and enthusiasm remain high. This should truly be an event film for all to see.

/Film : Vanessa Hudgens Audtioned For Twilight Sequel

Like it or not, for the next few years she will be a star, thanks to the young massive audience of HSM. Whether she can cut it in more adult roles past HSM and Twilight is another thing but y'know I have nothing against her so good luck to her. And yeah, it's an awesome move on the terms of the marketing and casting department if it is true. She'd probably add $5 mil on opening day grosses alone.

/Film : Could Two-Face Return For Dark Knight Seqel?

He's dead. And any twist to get him to come back wouldn't fit in the world that Nolan has created for this Batman. It's a shame that the Joker can't come back and that they killed Two-Face off, but shit happens and I'm guessing they cut the whole mortuary scene out of The Dark Knight for matters of time and for the rhythm of the ending. A new Batman film could establish new territory with fresh villians and a new dynamic now that Batman is the 'bad' guy. I don't see how you have to re-hash things, especially since TDK took very little from Begins. Nolan is too much of an original director not too repeat himself if he can.

I can see Slumdog taking this. I think it's got the big 'mo' and Boyle gets best director, it's basically signed, sealed and delivered. That's (of course( if the best director award is presented before best drama, which to be frank - I'm unsure of.

/Film : Sneak Peak: Pixar's Up

I'm not completely sold on this film, however people who've seen longer stretches of footage say it's sublime and Pixar haven't made an average film yet (I quite like Cars even if it is a league below the others). Hopefully this film allows for the 'Golden Age' of animation to carry on for a few more years...

I too wish them all the best. I love Dexter but they're merely actors on a (admittedly great) television show and what they do onscreen is what they do for a living. In short, I hope all goes well for them.

It's a good sign at least. Elfman can be fantastic, but he can also be average so if you are there; beware. That said, if you don't have faith in McG (most don't, I'm not sure I do) then least you can be sure he's backed himself up with absolutely the best team going.

The Sun is about as reliable as my mother for film information, and she watches about three films a year. I doubt there has been any test screenings and if the information is true - they've pulled it off publically taken photos snapped during the film's shoot. Beware, I'm pretty sure Larry Charles (the director of Borat) isn't directing Bruno meaning this could be more like the quality of Ali G: Indahouse rather than Borat (which I thought was of the most consistently hilarious comedies of the past few years).

/Film : Superbowl Film Advertising

Am I the only one who went and thought - What? Where's Avatar? Right now it's completely unknown to the public because quite frankly they haven't shown anything from it. And the massive audience they get from Superbowl would have been perfect to show 30 seconds to a minute of the film off and get people's attentions. Maybe it's at Cameron's request as he wants to show off the film when it's definitely at certain stage of completion. Who knows. Perhaps I'm being a tad selfish as I just really want to have a peek of the film but still I think it's a little disappointing.

/Film : Could The Joker Return For The Dark Knight Sequel?

Sure, like Nicholson or Romero didn't respectively own the role, Ledger doesn't own it either. However for the sake of a little continuity and respect I would like to see them not use him for the next film for example. Y'know give the character a break for one or two films allows for the time to pass, which then allows a new Joker with the utmost respect to the passing of Ledger and what he did with the role.

WB is in the wrong here. But that's not to say that Fox has to act like an asshole just for the sake of it. Fox - take a percetage of the final domestic gross and settle up. If Fox delays the release and they do indeed get a percetage of the gross then they are purely messing up their own chances of earning more money by harming the film. Plus they'll be pissing off the 'fanboy' community which quite frankly is propping them up nowadays.

It's nice to see a popular film doing some work around the awards circuit. And the thing is - it deserves it too, it's a cracking film and Nolan does genuinely belong to have some credit for it. It's pretty darn hard to make a film in Hollywood which has a budget of $100 million plus and, y'know actually come close to be artistically and financially successful so kudos to the creative force behind it all.

Haha, this is cheesy as hell. I somehow think this won't go down as one of the greatest storylines they've ever done; but it's harmless fun and got to be taken with tongue firmly in cheek.
/Film : Mickey Rourke Cast in Iron Man 2

Loving the casting. These are both high end quality actors who should hopefully ensure that the quality of acting in the first film continues. My main concern is the script; I don't think Theroux is the best of writing judging from Tropic Thunder and most importantly of all - it's been rushed which only has ever never meant good news for a film like this. The thing is I went into Iron Man thinking it would be a good watch and absolutely loving it. But I don't feel any real commitment to the franchise (bar from perhaps just watching to watch Downey onscreen; he's awesome) so a bad sequel would put me off seeing parts 3, 4 etc etc, or at least at the cinema. So please take the time with this one!
