Proxy connection isn't working for me :(

By the way, I suggested that the password was hidden with '*' and someone told me that it would be fixed on next releases, but it wasn't :)

He said that at TinyUmbrella blog comments (2010/11/ios-421-released.html#IDComment111645062)

Also on his twitter: "baseband preservation is still one of the features of PwnageTool"

I wouldn't lie about it :-) Dev-Team is the best and I only wish to help... Sunday maybe a GREAT Funday...

I think a new version of PwnageTool will be release as soon as the new ultrasn0w...

The GREAT MuscleNerd said:

"I can confirm that PwnageTool allows 4.2.1 without updating the baseband. My iPhone4 using a simple custom PT bundle has 4.2.1 with the 01.59 baseband and boots without a problem."

If you also update your baseband, than I think TinyUmbrella will be able to kick out of recovery mode. In fact, I don't think you need TinyUmbrella to do that at all. What is the point of using TinyUmbrella if you will update baseband?

TinyUmbrella is an excellent app to save yours SHSH and to update your firmware without update baseband, including kicking the device out of recovery mode, except for 4.2.1 (for now).

For now you can't... and shouldn't.

I'm sure semafore will find a way, but right now TinyUmbrella is no longer able to kick you out of recovery for 4.2.1.

Just be patient and wait a while.

If you bought your iPhone unlocked you don't need ultrasn0w at all. As you update to iOS 4.2 you will need redsn0w 0.9.6b4 if you want to jailbreak it. But it will be an semi-tethered jailbreak (you need to boot via redsn0w in order to JB apps work).

Once again, do not install ultrasn0w if your device is unlocked.

Thank you for the answer :)

Thumbs up!

What about JB non-dependents apps (contacts, safari...) and functionalities (phone calls, wi-fi...)? Do they work?

I just saw the comment from Gxray:

"Just an FYI, it's a semi-tethered jailbreak for the current generation of devices, not a full tethered jailbreak, kinda confused me when my phone booted without beign connected to pc but my jailbreak apps wouldn't work."

So, I guess this is it... This jailbreak is a semi-tethered, it boots but JB dependent apps wouldn't work.
