LifeChurch.tv Church Online Blog : A Picture of Life Change from Easter

I wanted to fit as much Jesus into my Easter this year as I possibly could. I wanted to see the crucified and the risen Jesus over and over and not allow it to drop from my focus. Friday saw a re-enactment of the Stations of the Cross through the streets of our city with all of the Christian churches doing their part. On Sunday we attended 6.00am Mass. We entered our church in darkness and as the Mass progressed the sun started to rise over the Australian Eastern Seaboard and gradually light up our Basilica. The sun rose and so did our Lord and Saviour. It was then home for Church Online at 8.00am, indeed!!! I think I sang the words of our recessional for two days. ‘He is risen from the dead, alright”

LifeChurch.tv Church Online Blog : Opposites Attract!

I believe that there has to be something in this “opposites attract” business. My work involves speaking to people and a lot of listening too. Sometimes I speak to several thousand at a time and have to command their attention. Obversely, I am married to the most talented, artistic woman in the world who has built an online business with several hundred clients that she has never seen nor spoken to. We compliment each other well in this and with six children, we have managed to instil a little bit if each of us in them. So, I had a nice thought about my #2 in this post, now i am off to SAY IT to her........

LifeChurch.tv Church Online Blog : Revolutionary Love

As I walked passed a coffee shop this morning I noticed a young lady putting up the first of three cafe umbrellas. She was quite petite and not particularly tall. She managed to get the first umbrella to spread its wings however she was battling on tippy toes to slip a pin into the top to hold the umbrella in place. I, being the revolutionary Lover that I am, offered to help and at 6ft 3inches tall. I was able to fit the pin with ease. We put up the other two and I was on my way..........
I was standing on the platform this evening when a young guy was wrestling with the vending maching trying to work out how to get his bottle of orange juice out of the dispenser. They are new machines and I new the trick so offered to help. We had the drink out in a few seconds and the guys face went from Mr Cranky to Mr Happy!!! He offered to buy me one however I already had a drink for the trip. i told him to "pay it forward". Hopefully with a little bit of understanding of Revolutionary Love and my simple deed, someone else is going to get loved by this guy. Bellman 8 down - 12 to go

Some people just do not want to be loved..... We were entering the Westfield shopping centre in Geelong today and a older gentleman and his wife were trying to drive out the exit boom gate and did not realise that you have to prepay inside before exiting or use a credit card at the boom gate to exit. I walked over passed the three cars that were now banked up behind him to explain how it worked. “Credit Card” he said, I am not putting my F*#@ing credit card in there. I pulled out my wallet to use mine to which he said “You aren’t going to put your F*#@ing credit card in there either. The wife can go and F*#@ing pay inside” So this slightly shocked Revolutionary Lover headed inside the shopping centre and as I passed his wife she apologised for her husband and paid for her ticket. I said to her that I was sorry I couldn’t have helped and wished her a Good Afternoon. I then slipped a Revolutionary love card into her hand Bellman 7 down – 13 to go....

This is a great idea Amanda, so good that I copied it. We were at Timezone with two of our kids yesterday evening and i noticed the pool table empty. So my son and i did just as Amanda had done and popped $2 into the pool table and set it up for whoever came by. I walked passed about 5 minutes later and there they were, 3 x 10yo boys crowded around the pool table and most importantly, they were talking to each other and not lost in a solo video game. BTW - the Revolutionary Love card had been placed respectively by the young lads on the top of the queue rack. Bellman 6 down - 14 to go......

Double Love Friday Number 1 I was coming out of a bookshop when I saw a lady approaching me with three coffees stacked up on top of each other and in full control. Five seconds later she was at the door of the hairdressers and the look of control drained from her face at the thought of how she would get the door open and keep the three coffees in tact. I took a few steps back and opened the door and the delivery was made without the spill of one drop of coffee. I popped a Revolutionary Love card on the hairdressers counter and wished them well Number 2 It is my sons 13th birthday today and he was allowed to invite a friend to a McDonalds outing. We were at the home of his friend and was about to leave when the friend’s younger brother appeared and he had a “wish i could come too” look on his face. My wife and i looked at each other we collectively nodded. Happy Meals are suppose to make you happy and this little fellow had a grin from ear to ear. I reckon him Mum enjoyed the bit of extra peace for the 2 hours we were gone..... Bellman 5 down – 15 to go

Dear Ps Kev i am located in Geelong Victoria. Geelong was lucky enough to be clear of the fires destruction, however we have had our share of scares in the Geelong region in the past. The support that has been mustered up over the last two weeks has been the bright point among the sadness. When I see the countless donations of time, money , goods and services that have occured it makes me very very proud to be an Australian.. Blessings back at you!!!

The day was nearly done with no opportunity for spreading the Love. Then, as I got off the train this evening there was a lady who, whilst I have never spoke to her, I have seen her before and knew she lived about 5 minutes away from me. There she was perched at the empty taxi stand. I offered her a ride which she accepted and when i dropped her at her door she offered me $10 for my trouble. I, of course declined to which she said she will give the “tenner” to the bush fire appeal. Win/Win on that one Bellman 3 down – 17 to go!!!

The Revolutionary Love continues As my wife and I got out of a Taxi in the city today, standing near my door was a Chinese tourist with two huge suitcases indicating to my Taxi driver that she required a ride. He popped the boot/trunk and i could see that lifting the cases into the car was going to be an effort. I simply said to her “let me help” and the bags were in the Taxi in about 15 seconds. In her broken English, she smiled and said to me “You very kind man”. I told her to have a good day and put a revolutionary love business card in her hand. Hopefully someone will help her understand the meaning of the card when she returns home.
Thanks for your reflection Ps Kev As I watched the television coverage of the events unfolding I saw several occasions when people were united with their loved ones, that they thought had perished in the fire, say that they had been praying for a safe return. They prayed, Australians prayed and International communities just like Lifechurch TV were busy in prayer for the victims and their families. We will never know a finite number of how many survivors were delivered through our prayers, however i know that it sure made a difference. On a positive note, when working in the Red Cross donation call centre last week I took a $300 donation from a lady who gave her address as Innisfail Queensland. Innisfail is located much closer to Ps Kevin than where the fires are and I know in the last few years the people of Innisfail have experienced at least 3 natural disasters including Cyclones and Floods. Generosity like this must be Gods work!!!

It was Tuesday afternoon and during a quiet time at work I printed and laminated the Revolutionary Love business cards and left with a stack of 20 in my backpack. I am pleased to say I am down to 19. I thought I would find an easy target for my first shot at sharing the love. There is a guy at Southern Cross Station in Melbourne (Melbourne is a big city in Australia) who I, along with literally thousands of other commuters, walk past each afternoon as he preaches the Word. As a Bellman I know that yelling out loud is thirsty work so just before I approached him this afternoon I popped over to little shop over the road and purchased a nice bottle of chilled water. He was drawing breath as I approached which gave me the opportunity to place the drink in his hand and say “keep up the good work Brother”. We chatted for a minute about the Revolutionary Love program and maybe we will see him at Lifechurch TV sometime? I realise on this occasion I was probably sharing the love with the converted. Next time i might just be game to love a possible non-believer. Bellman - 1 down 19 to go...........

Hi rn, thanks for asking. My family and I are fine. We are probably 2 hours drive from the fires and apart from the residual smoke that has blanketed our skyline, we are physically unaffected. Emotionally - the whole country is affected.

Thanks for you prayers for donations and rain. One of our most famous Australian poems starts with the words 'I love a sunburnt country", I think we would rather it a bit less burnt at the moment. Just as Ps Kevin said - keep us in your thoughts and prayers. rnsheets asked if Christian Brothers/Sisters in the U.S could help at all? The victims have been blessed with material goods of food and clothing so much so, that they have been seeking warehouse space just to cope with the donated goods. But they can always use money. If anyone feels inclined to donate please visit www.redcross.org.au

LifeChurch.tv Church Online Blog : What are the vows?

I love "in sickness and in health" and "all the days of my life". My wife and I clicked over 20 years married in 2008. When we met, our bodies were as fit and as glamourous as they were ever going to get . We have spent the last years joyfully watching them slowly deteriorate and blissfully watching our love for each continually grow.

Thanks for your prayers. It has been a sad week for our state and country.Pray for the direct victims and also the unsung heroes. A friend of our family has a daughter who works on the telephones taking emergency calls. She was mid sentence to a family with 6 people in a car when it was engulfed with flames with no survivors. It will be a long time before she recovers from the shock of this horrific incident. I had the honour of working on the Red Cross lines earlier in the week and was overcome by the generosity of the Australians who donated funds to assist the victims. In a three hour period I took credit card donoations of over $6000. Lord hear our prayers............
