Have you thought about what the alternative is?

Indeed, the Unflushable David Gauke still hasn't forgiven us for Brexit. He wants us dead, and is quite willing to tolerate, and even indirectly promote, illicit and indiscriminate spreading of fatal disease to get his way.

I don't agree with the proposition that any voters think Johnson is truthful. Most voters accept that political leaders need to lie to get things done.
Theresa May lied when she said 'no deal is better than a bad deal' when in truth she secretly wanted a deal that would keep the UK tied to the EU as closely as possible. Oborne doesn't cite this because he wanted the same thing, and was quite happy for May to lie to get it.

Can CH give us a list of the health charities and labour politicians concerned and a link to their comments. For future reference.

HS2 is indeed the Victorian era's answer to the internet, at least for business travel and should go regardless of how much has been spent already. If nothing else Sunak needs to clearly signal the shape of the new normal and decisively break with the failures of the old.
To Mr Baron's list I'd add an internet transaction tax and the abolition of high street rates.
