Well, he saw me throw the brick and smash the window. He wants to have a meeting in his office at 9am tomorrow. He has also invited someone from the HR department, so I can only guess that they are coming along to sort out all the paperwork so that my payrise is done in time for Christmas. Happy days!

I know the cyclist may be liable, but if they have no insurance, it makes it a lot more difficult to ever see any compensation. I DO think this is a genuine issue. But if you want to focus on the other genuine issues that you mention, you have my full support. Let us know how you get on or if we can help in any way.

What about clips of ten, Norm? It would make it easier to count the bodies in future attacks. Get rid of them completely. Only the military has a justifiable need for military style automatic weapons. Wake up America. Something terrible has happened - but don't pass up the opportunity for something good to come out of it!:

I would quite like a payrise at work. So I'm off to put a brick through the window of my boss's car. After all, that seems to be how we get results in Northern Ireland....... If that doesn't work, I'll send him a bullet in the post. I know where he works!

Basically you are saying that some people MAY have cover if they have cycle insurance for a bike worth insuring. I would think that number would be tiny, but perhaps you know some figures? But I would guess that a lot of people with a bike worth insuring would list is as an item on their home insurance and a lot would have no insurance at all. So if a cyclist comes out of a side road without looking on my way home tonight (and it does happen!) and damages my car, causes me to swerve into someone elses car, or (heaven forbid) kills themselves, I better keep my fingers crossed that they are one of the few with insurance? That doesn't sound like "sharing" to me Michael!

They may know what road sense is, but a lot of them seem to forget or choose to ignore when it suits them. I am not saying all cyclists do, but Neil's examples of cyclists ignoring traffic lights or mounting the pavement to avoid them are commonplace enough for me to conclude that a significant number of cyclists think the road laws don't apply to them.

"I'd like us to get to a place where we treat roads as a shared space, and if there are problems, that we have some way to talk about them and listen to one another. " I agree that would be great. Can I assume that you therefore think it should be mandatory for cyclists to have adequate insurance to cover themselves and others should they cause an accident?
