Dear President Obama, With all due respect, Mr. President, the next time you have occasion to speak in Europe, please do not speak for me. II am neither arrogant, dismissive or derisive towards our European counterparts.. I am a citizen of the America which, over the course of a century, has sacrificed thousands of young sons and daughters, plus countless treasure, to liberate them from Communism, fascism and dictators guilty pf unthinkable crimes. I am a citizen of the America which organized and funded the Marshall Plan with $13 billion to rebuild their economic infrastructure after it was destroyed in WWII. I am a citizen of the America which took nothing from Europe - no spoils of war, no territories - nothing but the stretches of soil where are brave soldiers lie buried. I am a citizen of the America that believes we are the greatest nation on earth because of the Judeo-Christian principles upon which our Founding Fathers created our incredible Declaration of Independence and Constitution. If you do not choose to be a PROUD citizen of this great nation, extolling it's virtues and upholding our Constitution, how can you possibly call yourself my President. Unfortunately, he is a very dangerous man . My husband is Bolivian and Chavez has literally made the new Bolivian socialist President Evo Morales his puppet. 90% or more of the population of these countries is indigenous - hard working, wonderful people but largely uneducated in the ways of the outside world. When a charismatic leader comes along and promises them the world on a silver platter, they fall for it hook , line and sinker. Their loyalty can be bought, then it is armed and voila you have a military force. One by one the SA countries are moving toward socialism and control of the masses by a treacherous few.. Plus they have vast natural resources. Plus many countries in S.A, are harboring Al Qaida training camps. We cannot brush Hugo off lightly. We must keep him in our sights and watch closely how things develop in SA.

Hi Madmax12, I read the book and thought it was excellent. Gen. Sadda should make the rounds of the talk shows. Certainly, from his book, it looks like the WMDs are stashed in Syria - taken out in stripped out commercial airlines during a natural disaster under the pretext of humanitarian aid. No doubt our intelligence knows all this but doesn't want to start another brouhaha - just keeping their eyes on the stash. Who knows?? I am convinced that the WMDs are out there somewhere and we did the right thing in Iraq.

One thing I didn't understand about the pre-paid doctor's visit plan is what about the blood tests, other lab tests, Xrays, stitches, casts, RXs, etc. etc. Who pays for those?? I doubt that the pre-paid plan covers anything other than the office visit. A simple blood test costs plenty . This plan sounds good but still leaves the uninsured patient unable to pay for the other needs.

I have read in various articles that if the Medicare and Medicade fraud could be controlled and reigned in (it's in the billions in each state), there would be more than enough money to cover more health care. Why don't we start there - even if we have to spend to modernize and control the current system. It would be money well spent instead of throwing tons more out to be squandered and wasted .

These are sometimes windows to the mindset of an individual although the argument could be made that people do change as they mature. I hope that is the case with our current President who will not allow any college records or theses to be disclosed.

Hi basiccommonsense, Under the new leadership of Michael Steele, the Republicans are scrambling to return to core principles and values since they recognize the error of their ways. I fear that it could take years to form , organize, fund etc a third party with enough clout to overturn the socialist road we are on. By then it will be too late. With elections coming up in 2010, why not start serious meetings with Michael Steele under the sponsorship of the 912 project . As the numbers grow, we can help them form a platform based on the Constitution and the core values and principles of the Founders. We thus throw our weight and influence into a party which is already organized, well funded and ready to go in 2010. Face it, there are some really fine members of the GOP out there. I am a 9/11 Republican myself having been a Democrat all my life . I was born during the Great Depression and FDR did save our family from abject poverty with his WPA program - thus was my upbringing and fidelity to the party all those years. But I don't even recognize the Democrats today !! I feel an URGENT need to do something to change the stats in Congress in 2010. Time is of the essence. I wonder if a leader will emerge from the 912 project?? I like Newt G. I think that I will send him an email and ask him to join in the project.

I do believe that the average American is very much educated into and ingrained with a two party system. I am afraid that any third party would only serve to dilute the Republican Party giving the Democrats even more power. It also appears that under the leadership of Michael Steele, the Republican Party wants very much to return to it's core conservative values and principles. Why can't the leaders of the Libertarians, Independents (all of whom seem conservative to me) plus representatives of the 912project have serious meetings with Michael Steele and lay down a platform that is agreeable to all and that is based on and true to the core values and principles of our Founders and the Constitution.. Such a party would be a force to be reckoned with!! This would provide the leadership we need to form one great party Any old time Republicans who couldn't or wouldn't shape up would be quickly replaced. Remember, we surround them and outnumber them - even if you include the minority groups and the far left Acorn types. It's just that, up to this point, we have lacked unity and proper leadership. If everyone goes off joining different parties and groups, we continue to be fragmented and outnumbered. Let's ask Glenn to make overtures to Michael Steele. He is an intelligent, well educated pro-life conservative - plus being an African American. The perfect man for the job.

I do think that we still have the freedom to choose at election time. My husband is from Bolivia which has been taken over by a socialist puppet of Hugo Chavez. That's when you know that the polls are rigged. Also, they have so many political parties down there that no one gets the majority vote so the congress winds up picking the President anyway. Even though I don't understand why we need the electoral college (I must go back and study up on that) , we do have power at election time. However, I don't see that a third party here would work since it would dilute the Republicans and then we would really be stuck with the Dems forever. Perish the thought!!. I think that the 912 people (mostly conservatives I would imagine) should get into discussions with Michael Steele (chairman of the RNC) and start working on a genuine core value platform that is true to our founders and the Constitution. This could attract a ton of people who currently feel disenfranchised and give us the clout we need to oust them - one by one, senator by senator, rep by rep.

Hi, the problem I am having is that if we don't align with some party or entity, how will we ever change anything at the polls?? It's great to vent and share ideas in someone's living room but if we have no unified voice, then where will our enthusiam wind up. I spent time in MLM for awhile and used to be able to pack people into my living room again and again to hear a presentation. One very wise MLM leader told me that if the meeting didn't move out of my living room and into someone else's and then into someone else's etc. etc etc., the result would be zero and he was absolutely correct. Am I the only one who feels that we lack direction at this point and are groping in the dark?? Sure, we can change our hearts, change our values, write a zillion letters, make calls etc. but real change in America happens in the voting booth. The Democrats seemed to have learned that lesson very well and look at what is happening to America. And let's face it, the 9 principles and 12 values are conservative by nature. How can we say that we are totally non-partisan?? I would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Clay, In theory, I agree with you. I am a 9/11 Republican but share a lot of the philosophy of the Libertarians. But, in reality, we are an ingrained two party system. My fear is that a third party only tends to dilute the Republicans and we will be stuck with the Democrats forever. Perish the thought!! I think that those who desire a third party should be talking with Michael Steele and working out a conservative party platform based on values and principles that will attract more people to a single party that could have tremendous clout. Michael Steele is an intelligent pro-life, principled guy - well educated, even spent time in the seminary- plus he is African American. I think that he was an excellent choice to lead the Republican National Committee. Our group needs direction (I have read and heard that from many Beck followers) and what better way than to work with the only group that recognizes the mistakes they have made and are trying to correct the errors of their ways - meaning the Republicans. I, too, want to make a difference but feel that the 912 project - by remaining a-political - leaves us basically alone and groping in the dark. Would love to have your thoughts on this. Ann
