Big Hollywood : Spotted at the Oscars: Movie Stars Desperate to Avoid Talking Politics

Mitt Romney's contribution to charity was what? A hundred times greater than Obama's in 2011. Because Obama donated something along the lines of 300 dollars. I don't like Romney, but at least he puts his money where his mouth is.

Big Peace : Top General: Israeli Iran Strike Would Be 'Destabilizing'

It might have to do with the way Intense Debate registers comments...its possible their servers get overloaded and in the checking process, which is really quick, some data gets skipped over, i.e. users' posts.

I had one "lost" as well. I think it is Discus' updating system. Breitbart needs to look into actually making these websites technologically standalone, as opposed to merely integrated blogs.

At this point, this seems to be the only correct perspective. I watched Santorum's rise with some eagerness, but the guy just flat out gives me the creeps. edit: It's weird how this post got deleted. Either the Bigs are censoring, or Discus is bugging out.

Big Hollywood : Why Won't Hollywood Conservatives Make an Alger Hiss Film?

It's not that black & white. Most of the set players, catering, wardrobe etc, even the cinematographers, dont really care what the film is about--they do, but subject matter is second in doing what they want to do--which is the best job they possibly can. That goes for the good ones, and Hwood is full of some very skilled and talented people from a variety of different backgrounds.

You're an idiot. Plain and simple. The auto industry is in WORSE shape. They're churning out cars no one wants to buy, diluting brand values, and bungling around with flimsy parts. The only reason people buy their cars is because dealers are desperate to be rid of them. Recovery my lugnut.

Big Hollywood : Trailer Talk: 'Get the Gringo' Offers Old-School Mel for Newfangled VOD Consumption

What a cheapshot at Mel Gibson. Hardly marketable? Like plenty before me have said, that stinks of either ignorance, or some kind of "gotcha!" attitude the author has. It's fine if you don't like Mel and hope the film tanks, but say that ahead of time, don't try to slip it in your writing, that's the Left's job.

Big Government : A Call For Unity at CPAC 2012; We All Must Find Common Ground

SORRY, but I as much as I empathize with your melodramatic analysis, the mistakes that Perry, Cain, and Pawlenty made were amateur at best. Not getting on the ballot for certain states definitely ranks up there as almost sheer novice behavior. Cain could have weathered more adultery attacks, but he valued his own reputation as a short term consideration. Don't blame him, doubt many people could stand against slime buckets like Steinem getting on a pedestal. but at the end of the day, to me, if you can't even get yourself on the ballot box, you can't plan ahead. And that's not what we want.

Big Hollywood : Secret's Out: Why Letterman Show Didn't Book Many Female Comics

The answer is that most human beings have a sense of humor, but as Hitchens says, most human beings simply are not funny. Have you seen most people do standup? it's painful, awkward, and frankly pathetic, regardless of whose performing. The crux of it however is that to do comedy properly involves making fun of people in a nonchalant way--men can do this because they are less sensitive than women, and jokes flow down like a river. Women are quite capable of attacking each other wittily, but only when provoked at great length, and it tends not to be funny, because of the resulting tension that has built up. I think women can say funny things, but frankly, standup is hard period, just as looking beautiful is hard (my good looks arent natural, you know) so idk why women feel they have to have it all. Nobody does.

completely false. Milton Friedman was opposed to the concept of a Federal Reserve, BUT, he accepted that it exists, and it exists because people psychologically need it to exist--reliance on the gold standard makes people nervous about deflation, bank runs, and panics. He wasn't a statist, he was a realist, but a realist who stood up for his intellectual principles, and that's why his books are read by hundreds of thousands, and your snark-post by maybe a hundred.

Well Charles was always one of teh 'neo-cons!' Nah, but I think less strong-willed people turn with the tide. No one wants to embracing an ideology they feel as losing. Charles fell for the MSM's hype that Republicans and Constitutionalism was a dying breed in 2008--of course forgetting the MSM shed similar crocodile tears in 1968. That's really the watershed year- late 2008 and early 2009. I stopped visiting that site in Feb 2009. Never went back.
