Good that you did! The article is long and might take me a while to translate. :-) Plus, I find that the "Argentinean Spanish" is more difficult for me, who's used to Castiilian and Mexican Spanish, to read. Kind of like the differences between American English and Australian English! :-)

Strikes, hits.... as in hitting the golf ball around... but I don't know very much about golf terms, so there was probably a better translation for this line. And Pep is just saying it's better to do the hitting (of the golf ball) than to be hit (by all of the rumors and lies, etc. he had to pt up with during the season). At least, that's my interpretation of the joke... :-D

Thanks. :-) No, I am not a native speaker, so I appreciate your comments! It is one thing translating basic Spanish... but doing these cartoons, where there is so much regional and local culture involved, too... that's a challenge! :-)

Thanks for the explanation! That phrase was annoying to try to translate :-p ... I had to assume it was "fairly well known" -- at least by readers of Sport -- or they would not have used it, but even after finding the youtube clip, I wasn't sure what it's significance was -- which is one problem as I try to translate the cartoons but don't live in Barcelona. So thanks for the help! :-)

If a post is offensive, anyone can report it (by using the "report" link), as opposed to waiting for an administrator to see the comment. That will remove the comment right away until it can be reviewed. Just be sure to report for valid reasons -- offensive words, attacks, etc. A difference of opinion and even stupid remarks might not actually qualify... remember, there IS free speech -- WITHIN REASON.

It's been updated! To do the fronts ahead of time, since I'm in the USA, I had to rely on the small photo from EMD, website... after midnight my time, though, there are larger versions available (which I can heck in the morning). So, yes, the 50-55 was incorrect... got the discussion going, though! :-)

Hi! Someone (maybe you?) mentioned yesterday that the EMD cartoon was not being posted. One reason is that they do not update it every day, so forgot to check after a while. But I will post them now when new ones are posted on the EMD website. :-)
