Simiply because I can read all there is on the web about the history of the Hammers. I can (and have) bought a few books to get a better sense of the this team and the fans. But post like this one give me a sense of what goes on in the hearts&heads of the local fans as they walked away from Upton Park, after a bad result. I am interested in watching (and reading on this site) what it takes to get promoted. I have hope that Golivan and company do learn from the past and make the right decision, not jus tthe easy ones. At times a person, company .......... or team needs to be knocked down a few times to realize it is worth the extra effort to make the right decisions and fight to STAY up, rather then just getting used to getting BACK up. I HAVE to get over to Upton Park for at least one match before the move. Even if it means coming over and watching championship ball, then so be it. As I stated before I picked the Hammers to follow because of the team history and the similarities between East London and Baltimore. It has not always been easy, but it has been (and looks like it will continue to be) exciting. I strongly believe that as fans it is important to support the team even through the hard times...... Being in the states my seat is usually the big comfy one in the living room or the hard wooden one at the bar. If the Hammers end up moving, I might be able to convince the wife that I HAVE to see a game at Upton Park and so be able to fly over for a brief holiday. But I have watched games in the middle of a running track and that's what you notice, it's far away, too far away. You lose a lot when you have to keep checking the big screen to see what happened.
