Wonder how many "supporters" -- given the hero-like status they seem to be giving "Larry," were being prescribed pain meds by Dr. Eckstein? I doubt the patient who lost their foot because of Dr. Eckstein's poor care feels the same.

I agree that Dr. Eckstein is innocent until proven guilty. We'll see what a jury of his peers -- not admire's -- have to say.

I hope the victim has the strength to go through this again. If this guy did it -- and it sounds like 11 were convinced he did -- I think the victim should draw some strength from the knowledge that the next time there's a good chance a jury will put this guy away for a long time. For the defendant, I'd think he might want to think about making a deal that keeps him out of prison. Doesn't look like he would fair well there.

If he simply would have said he was stopping for animal in the roadway, he wouldn't have been charged -- probably would have gotten an award from PIDA. For the bicyclist enthusiast out there, by the way, how many times does an animal stop in the roadway for no apparent reason?

When I first saw the headline, I thought someone was suing because of the unsafe Hill. Now that would be a lawsuit I could get behind.
