I think it's actually more acceptable in Europe, because pretty much everybody uses it. Roma, non-Roma, Bigots, and non-bigots alike.

It's pretty much a universal term for anybody who lives that kind of nomadic lifestyle.

Yep, the term has been self-adopted by nomadic Celtic groups in both Ireland and Scotland. Neither of whom are actually ethnic Roma groups.

Personally, I think that if they want to use that term, then they should be allowed to.

It's actually a pretty common word in many places. There are all kinds of animal, boats and aircraft with the word Gypsy in the name. It implies that something travels around or is nomadic.

Gypsy Moth, Gypsy Rose, and so on,

It's also a girls name.

Roma only refers to the Roma ethnicity. Gypsy is a much broader term that encompasses people from different ethnic groups. It's much more socially and ethnically inclusive.

If you go to regions such as the UK you'll find that there are quite a few groups, both representing the Roma and non-Roma communities who use the word Gypsy to refer to themselves in their official publications.

They find the term useful rather than offensive.

It's still a show that's primarily targeted at children.

Children don't usually care about things being in HD, and parents prefer cheaper SD features.

Most childrens shows don't get a blu-ray release unless they are a feature film.

Normally, they wait until about 1 year after it's finished airing on TV. I think that probably have some kind of agreement not to release a season on DVD until it's been shown on TV for a certain amount of time.
