Penny! you had packed your bags and said goodbye, and now you are back, why oh why oh why???? I feel for Mary Beth to have to cook with you I hope you don't sabotage her, but again that won't be anything new. You may have shown the judges how great you cook, but with an attitude like that who would care to look. Please FN let this be a show about just the cooking, Not about Penny to jack up your rating. With Whitney gone, for Susie i am rooting A sandwich show is not so captivating Vic Vegas or is he now the "Mama's boy" if he can't make up his mind, neither can I Mary Beth is neither oh so good nor so bad But a show from her may just be too bland Let's see what happens to the final four Thought honestly there's isn't one I could really vote for!

those were my exact same thoughts too JimH. Seriously, a Roast??!!! is their sole purpose to make the contestants cringe and squirm and what is the point of a Roast. How many shows do we see where the chefs are constantly humiliated and they have to cook despite that. What a waste!!!!

I was going to comment about the Roast and just saw that JimH had the same comment. Have to absolutely agree with him, you guys at FN need to get serious; the contestants have been serious about their cooking for a while now and they have won/lost based on how serious they were. Why can't they have "Chopped" kinda setup and please don't tell them it has to reflect their POV. I find that concept has gone too far. The judges seem to influence the contestants POV and for a good show POV does not really matter. Does Bobby Flay have a POV, he is all over the board and all over the world with his cooking ...if Susie F was a judge when he was entering TV world he would be cooking Irish food and not Mexican in order to respect and reflect his heritage. Vic's POV took a drastic turn and that was never called upon, he saw all the women in RR audience and decided to win hearts by calling himself a Mama's boy. So just give them a basket of ingredients and see who cooks the best. Also if there is no point for the mini competition don't even make the contestants go thru it, Jyll was apparently a winner but she had zero advantage in the RR round.

Star Talk : The “Y”

This is the reason I think Jeff may not be the winner, there is already a show in the works and that too with Flay http://www.hellmanns.us/promotions/buildtheperfec... Didn't Adam Gertler have an idea to cook and have live viewers ask him a question and didn't FN lift that idea and have a show and it was right after the FNS 2009.

I am not too fond of Jyll but Grant's obsession of calling out her spelling in every post is a bit much. Dud with a "ley" please stop that since it just accentuates your immaturity. I have to agree with some of the viewers as well as Bobby's comment on La-Changa, a lasagna is heavy and so is a Chimichanga...and add the two together I just about lost my appetite. i have often seen that what they show on RR and the edited version on FN seem quite different and that has been the case every year. They just edit in such a way that their judgement seems vindicated. At this point I like Suzie but not sure how different than Marcela Valladolid and so many other Mexican shows is it going to be, Whitney seems cool and calm and I would like her show as long as they don't keep coaxing her to make it personal. I have a whole lot of respect for firemen but her talking about her brother may have been what the judges wanted but for me when I watch a cooking show it adds nothing. My fav has been Orchid and I am still hoping there is a wild card round where they bring her back

Maria Russo, last week you searched high and low for positive comments about Penny from the viewers' opinion and tried to potray that we were sad to watch her go and this week you state it was "Shocking" to see Penny and Chris go. The only thing Shocking was why in the world did it take judges this long to finally give the two of them the boot. I really hope that your incessant search for good things to say about "you know who" does not mean there is a show for her that is currently in the works. As for the caption "Oh welcome back Orchid!!!!"

Maria: I am sure you had dig very very deep into the blog comments to find the few positive comments that you say were posted by viewers! ...also I betcha that those comments may have had several negative ratings to prove that the rest of us do not agree. You had said "Do you think that this week could have been a turning point for the Middle Eastern Mama, that, if given just a little more time, she could have become more personable, both on camera and off?", well...I can only say that she may have pretended to get better but all she has done and said in the last few weeks will take a veeeerryyyy long time to erase from our memories. As I mentioned in one of my posts, during the very first episode of FNS my kids said that Pennie is a meanie and we don't want to see her and boy oh boy....kids are so right!!! She may have a unique POV but does it even matter if she has the personality like that. Absolutely incorrigible! Please FN...unique POV does not override common courtesy and basic social skills and manners!!

Star Talk : Guest Star Spotlight: Wolfgang Puck

At the outset I want to mention that I have great respect for WP. His comment that people who do not even know how to turn on the stove and want to become FNS is a bit much, if they do not have talent and yet selected as the finalists then it is the fault of the FN process and not the contestants. Sara, Jyll did not "sweat it" at all and maybe if she, Susie and Giada would have praised her (then again maybe not...they seem to give conflicting advise). She may have a bad dish but if someone like WP wanted to take her to the kitchen (which again he should not have done; read comments on previous blog) anyone in her spot would have broken down. She held her head high and was so respectful about WP when she introduced to her peers that he was in their kitchen. I really commend her for that and she should have been praised rather than be reproached by the judges. I think we had enough crying with Alicia and judges did not empathise with her rather chided her (correctly so). WP was there to judge and not teach, and I thought it was uncalled for.

Really Grant??!!! You really think we come week after week to watch Penny! You seriously are writing for the wrong blog, we are here to watch Food network where people need to cook, not the Real Housewives. If the producers and judges think like you do, then we sure do know now that FN has lost all credibility for finding talent on the show. Every sentence of yours irked me so much including your comments about Jyll. She really held herself together far better than anyone and your comment that she should embrace it was just plain foolish. Anyone in her spot would be humiliated. As another viewer commented, WGP was there to judge and if he did not like it he should have talked about it and not gone to the extent of taking her to the kitchen; Jyll +1, WGP 0. On all the shows be it Iron Chef, Chopped or any other such contests the judges judge and say as they seem fit, I have not seen a judge walk Flay or anyone else to the kitchen and show them how things are done.Penny really deserved to go home. My kids watch the very first episode and said that they did not like Penny at all and to think that she was trying to come across as a "Mama"..."Mafia" was more like it.

absolutely!!! And honestly I don't want a FN host falling apart and crying all the time...isn't that why they sent Alicia home. As I had mentioned in my earlier posts, bringing personal life to the table has gone way way too far, i enjoy watching them cook and that is about it, it is food network not Drama Network!!!

Also quoting Melissa that Orchid will be reading this blog, Orchid please read all the responses we have posted since you left and you will finds loads of encouragement. We are appalled that you were let go and viewers after viewers have felt the same way. I really hope this is not the last we have seen of you and you come back and entertain and cook for us many more times!!!!!

I agree about Jeff's Zen personality very different now. His POV was quite different and he did bring some good food to the table but now he is covering foods done by other cooks and his personality is all so bubbly which is so not him. I wish his show was such that he could search for all the good food and then come back to his kitchen and do his "Zen" twist on it. That would make it a better show.

I agree. Although heart wrenching last year Melissa brought her mother's tragic death before serving. I feel the judges need to "we need to know more about you; bring your personal stories to the table " has gone a bit too far. I watch the shows for the cooking; if I wanted their personal stories I would be watching a talk show or Inside edition or shows of that sort and not food network.
