Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : The 2nd Amendment

I agree, the right to own and bear arms is a national thing. It is a right granted to us by the Constitution, but that does not mean carrying of a "concealed" weapon in my opinion. That is a privilege granted to a person by the licensing authority of a State. I see it not unlike a fishing and hunting license. I have one for Texas, does that mean Oklahoma and New Mexico have to honor it?

Yes, you are correct. If it passed, it would be veto'd when it hit the Presidents desk. No veto override possible. I am personally torn about this issue. I have my CHL, as does my wife. I see myself as a responsible, law abiding citizen, regardless of where I happen to be at any given time. I think it is my right under the Constitution to own any firearm I choose to own, however, "Concealed Carry" is not a right in my opinion, it is a privilege, earned by me because I am a law abiding citizen, and I have demonstrated the prerequisite skill and knowledge about the use of firearms, and granted to my by the State of Texas. The Constitution does not state that it is a right to carry a concealed weapon. I am solidly for States Rights. If a state decides to honor another states CHL, then great, if not, I believe that should be their choice. The Federal Gov't. needs to stay out of it. Let the states manage it for themselves. I know some disagree, but we can't have it both ways. If you support the right of a state to say, weapons produced, sold and kept within state lines do not fall under BATF regulations, then you shouldn't support the Feds telling a state that they have to recognize a license granted in another state.

I am having a tough time with this concept these days. I would love to buy domestic products, but I have a problem with the way the government is taking over American companies. I will never buy another Union Labor produced American automobile. I have cancelled all of my credit cards that were issued by Banks that took TARP money and then turned over common stock to the US Govt. They get enough of my money every April, and I won't help promote and perpetuate a S o cialist / Fa sc ist economy or bureaucracy, not by choice anyway. These companies were poorly run, and should have been allowed to fail.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/26 Cap & Trade? Wall Street Journal Says NOOOOOO!

Humane and righteous? There is nothing humane or righteous about a blatant money and power grab. This has nothing to do with saving the environment, it is a scam that allows a select few "Big" corporations the ability to get rich selling "carbon derivatives". Open your eyes! The earth is warming because the sun, remember the sun?, the big yellow ball in the sky, is in a period of elevated activity. More energy is being pumped out and the earth is in the way. It has happened this way since the dawn of time.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 6/11 Newt's Notes

The problem is that the Republican Party, supposedly the opposition party, seems to be giving tacit approval to all of these things. Yes, maybe they do not have the numbers to stop any of this, but where is the outrage? I cannot remember seeing any of the so-called Republican Leadership on the tube so much as raising a objection to any of this. Talk about frustrating! So what are we left to believe? Are they in on it, but don't want the stigma attached to them? I am starting to think so. Bush did authorized TARP after all. All of these Czars being appointed by Obama, and not one peep from a Republican Senator about how the Constitution is being circumvented. Only a few Dems like "Sheets" Bird are willing to stand up and object. Newt will give a speech here or there, but where was he last year? Did we not see all of this coming? I know I did, but I am not a politician, only a father and a businessman trying to hold on to what little I have left. I personally think it is just about time to call for a Constitutional Convention, because at this pace, there will be little left that we recognize by the time the mid-term elections roll around.

It is fairly apparent that all of the Justices have been watching what is going on and discussing events to some extent. I suspect that Justice Ginsberg was fully aware that a number of the Justices want the chance to weigh in on this as decades upon decades of established Bankruptcy law hangs in the balance.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/28/09 China Tells The Fed "STOP PRINTING MONEY"

You are close, but there is still a lot of oversight. The following was taken from a British Journal of Public Health Medicine. Since 1978, however, China's leadership has taken a new developmental path and the chosen route to economic transformation uses the market rather than central direction and planning as a means of economic growth. These macro-economic changes have, in turn, produced major effects on the organization and financing of health services. So, the PRC is rapidly moving toward a free market economy and we are going the other direction. Go figure! We get what we deserve.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/26/09: Gen. Colin Powell Says, WAIT WAIT, I'm Still In The GOP (really, he said that)

My take on it is that if Gen. Powell expects us to believe that he is a Republican, not a Conservative, just a Republican, then why did he not throw his support behind John McCain? 85% of McCain's policies were for all practical purposes, the same as Pres. Obama's. If this is truly the case, I can only assume that the only reason Gen. Powell voted for President Obama is due to race. If this indeed was the true reason he voted for Obama, then he has no credibility in the Republican Party or any other because if his strongest principle is to vote for someone of the same race as he, and not for the most qualified candidate, or candidate that best reflects his political beliefs, then he has no credibility at all.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/22/09: CBO Say Unemployment To Rise Through Next Year

I suspect the answer to your question lies in another," What good would it do?" Ford will need to focus on the overseas markets to survive, that is if they can. GM will continue to lose money, and the Government will continue to dump more in for the next decade or so. Their excuse will be that " In order to protect the investment that the US Tax Payers have made in GM, we will do everything that is necessary to keep the company moving forward and the legions of UAW members employed. Failure is not an option here folks, it's a national security issue of paramount importance. We can't just walk away!" In other words a never ending stream of government subsidies. Based on that, Ford will be behind the 8 ball on an uneven playing field. However, if they offer the public the kind of high quality vehicles they want, even if they cost a bit more, they will win in the end. Unless the EPA and Congress, regulate them into extinction.

You hit the nail on the head! This is nothing more than an attempt to co-opt the message the Tea Parties were intended to send. The BIG difference will be that instead of curbing spending, this will be his reasoning for raising taxes on those 95% of the people he promised would not see a tax hike. I would also bet that the expiration of the so called George Bush tax cuts will be accompanied by additional increases north of 50% for those making $200K or more and a Corporate tax rate near 45%.

Crist is just another in a long line of Liberal Republicans. He might have an R by his name , but he is no conservative and he has already secured the support of the National Republican Senate Campaign committee. That's my Senator for you, Senator Cornyn of Texas. I am continually regretting my vote for this guy. He apparently believes that as long as someone puts and R by their name, they are worth supporting, unless they are conservative of course.

They probably think that by getting out in front of this, they will have the opportunity to help shape the policy which will directly impact their business. Little do they know, they will only get what the 'Great Leader" personally decides they deserve. They say they will save $2T over the next 10 years and what does the administration say? " We re not sure how this will help our efforts as these savings will be primarily realized by private individuals and not the Govt." People, don't be duped!
I agree. The Industry is only trying to save itself by minimizing the risk by taking a proactive position. The problem is that it will do no good at all.
Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 4/29/09: Senator Spector Changes His Stripes From Red To Blue

It is really not the disaster everyone might think it is. First of all, we conservatives need to accept the fact that we have no representation in congress at this time in history. At least none with any power to effect change. Specter's move hasn't changed anything. The Republican Caucus in the Senate NEVER had the votes to hold a filibuster. Out of the group of 4, Collins, McCain, Snow and Specter, the Dems could always count on at least 2 to jump ship and vote for cloture. I guess Lindsey Graham will now assume Arlen's role in the Party. Personally, I have no problem with being associated with a toothless minority if that minority has principles they honestly live by. We have gravitated towards too many politicians who will say anything to anyone just to get elected.

I ask this question in all seriousness. If Specter and Murtha are so disliked, why do they continue to get re-elected? I firmly believe that Specter's switch was a self preservation move. The guy has never represented anyone but himself. If my memory is correct, he was a Dem, switched in 1980 to the GOP so as to ride Reagan's coat tails into office. Now, he is switching back hoping to ride Obama's popularity into another term. I don't know the politics of your state, but based on the results of recent elections, I'll bet he wins another term.
