I also let them know besides blocking the channel; I also e-mail their sponsors and inform them that I will never buy their products again as long as they sponsor such filth. WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Federal Reserve threatened to force the ouster of Bank of America CEO Kenneth Lewis if he didn't follow through with plans to buy Merrill Lynch & Co., Republicans said Wednesday after reviewing internal documents.

Republicans also said there was evidence that the government tried to restrict information related to the merger from being publicly released.

However, none of the documents showed that the government explicitly instructed Bank of America to hide Merrill Lynch's losses from shareholders, they said.

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee is investigating claims that top government officials, including then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke, urged Lewis to go through with the acquisition and not disclose to shareholders the details of Merrill Lynch's deteriorating financial state.

No, I'm not. Check it out. Just after the G20 was when the idea of transferring the internet control to the "world community" in the form of a G8 type set-up was mentioned. It is just a piece of the transnational agenda. Kind of like the Laws Of the Sea Treaty (LOST).

Have you heard about the "off switch" that they want for the internet? Or search internet 2 project, or ICANN, or the internet bullying act, or biometric controls.

It doesn’t mean that this will happen, but it is being talked about and given the current state of affairs, should be ignored at our own peril.

I believe the internet security Czar was already appointed, as well as a former hacker becoming a part of the administration.

More disturbing though, in October, ICANN's (the private company that administers the internet), contract will expire. Several members of the EU are pushing the administration to turn it over to a sort of internet G8 type situation. Also, the so called internet 2 has been in development for several years. Our freedoms on the internet’s days are numbered.

I would like to see Republicans start acting like Constitutional (if not loving) respecting citizens of, by and for the people. I would also like to see an end to this two headed single party paradigm which is destroying this Constitutional Republic.

Unless you stop putting your power and personal gain ahead of We The People and our beloved Republic, you are no better than the Democrats.

George Washington warned of a two party system destroying the Republic and he refused to identify with one. Now here we stand on the brink of destruction and all you can do is turn your back on the people, the constitution and our republic, in favor of your party loyalties and personal gain.

Shame on you, God bless the United States of America and long live the Republic.

The Federal Reserve's balance sheet is so out of whack that the central bank would be shut down if subjected to a conventional audit, Jim Grant, editor of Grant's Interest Rate Observer, told CNBC.

With $45 billion in capital and $2.1 trillion in assets, the central bank would not withstand the scrutiny normally afforded other institutions, Grant said in a live interview.

"If the Fed examiners were set upon the Fed's own documents-unlabeled documents-to pass judgment on the Fed's capacity to survive the difficulties it faces in credit, it would shut this institution down," he said. "The Fed is undercapitalized in a way that Citicorp is undercapitalized."

Met police: six officers accused of torturing drug suspects

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) said it was investigating the conduct of officers based in Enfield, north London, during drugs raids in the borough last November.

Neither the IPCC nor Scotland Yard would comment on the nature of the allegations but sources said the officers were accused of pushing suspects' heads into buckets of water.

One IPCC document is said to use the word "waterboarding" – the CIA technique condemned as torture by Barack Obama – in connection with the allegations.
