New Stadium Insider : The 9/11 Bag Rules Are Back For The Playoffs

Wouldn't the terrorists win if they you know actually blew something up? With that said I am pretty sure limiting bags won't deter a terrorist attack.

New Stadium Insider : Yankees give away promo keychain to those who leave EARLY - Who makes these decisions?

Could it be possible that the giveaways didn't make it to the stadium in time for them to distribute before the game? I get the feeling these things aren't made months in advance but just planned months in advance. It could be possible that they made the keychains up and maybe there was a typo or something wrong with the trinket and they couldn't get them to the stadium and to each gate in time.

New Stadium Insider : Yankees Photo Program - Convenient But Unreliable

i believe the reason the photographers don't care is because a portion of their salary is either based on number of pictures taken or number of pictures sold. The more pics they take the more likely they are to make some extra money

The mets have been doing this for years with Nikon as the sponsor. Absolute money-grab but the Mets were smart enough to plaster a word across the picture online so you couldn't do a screen grab and get a decent picture for free. I do agree that is an awesome thing to provide to fans as you said especially with the bag rules and if you are coming from work and don't remember the camera

New Stadium Insider : Another Reason Not To Listen To The \"How May I Help You\" People - Fans Given False Information Abo

No word on whether the "How May I Help You" people consulted their little notebooks provided by the Yankees? Chapter 5 clearly states "Do not state opinion people will take anything you say as truth?" 1st of all the re-entry rule to my understanding is standard protocol in most sports stadiums. I understand why they have it. Basically it protects the team from A) losing money and B) overcrowding the building. Think of this scenario, 5 friends go to the game with tickets. Another 4 friends are at Stans. The original 5 friends get in the stadium with regular purchased tickets, 1 of them leaves with all 5 tickets and gives 4 tickets to the remaining friends. 9 people enter stadium for the price of 5 tickets. Now imagine if you did this with 20 friends at stans. It could end up being a really bad situation.

New Stadium Insider : Plenty Of Good Seats Available For Upcoming Premium Yankee Games - And We're Not Only Talking A

Look around baseball, when the Yankees were rained out Monday ESPN had the Marlins-Pirates game and there were maybe 10,000 people in the building. The recession is a big part of it BUT if these tickets were closer to 2008 prices I have no doubt in my mind that the Yankees would be playing to 90-95% capacity every night. Keep in mind NY although hurt by the recession isn't as hurting as the smaller towns which is making it tough to draw crowds from an already small population. We have such a higher population and a good amount of wealth in the area that the Yankees and Mets have been able to fill the park mostly despite higher prices but if the prices weren't raised to such a crazy number they would be selling out

MetsBlog.com : Opinion: The Citi Field Criticism

I don't get this argument at all. #1) Yes there is the Jackie Robinson Rotunda, yes he was a Dodger but the man transcends baseball and sports as a whole. He is often regarded as the trailblazer for the civil rights movement because of what he was able to do on the field. In addition, he broke the color barrier for a National League team in NEW YORK, the ONLY NL TEAM IN NEW YORK IS THE METS. They should embrace this connection. It is obvious in that every major Jackie Robinson day ceremony happens at Shea or Citi. NOT IN LA AT DODGER STADIUM #2) Yes Citi-Field's outside resembles Ebbits Field's outside but when you think of iconic NY Baseball stadiums you only think of Ebbits and YS. Polo Grounds wasn't a baseball stadium and didn't have an exterior that people remember. The Mets pay homage to both the Dodgers and Giants. Dodger obviously by the outside of Citi-Field, but the Polo Grounds are represented by the high-wall in left field, the green seats in the stands, the "soot" black wall with the orange line (Giant Colors) #3) 2 of the most recognizable images that I relate to the Mets for Shea were the HR apple and the orange foul poles. Guess what? They are both there, add in the scoreboard skyline with the Mets in the middle at the center field food area and you have some signature mets icons. The outside is covered with former Mets pictures, give them some time to work out the kinks for the inside.

New Stadium Insider : Yankees On Pace to Draw "Only" 3.9 Million Fans in 2009

It should be noted that the mets did not officially sell out their home opener either. I heard some reports that the Mets were selling tickets at the ticket window day of game. Of course there wasn't a ticket available for anything less than $250 but it is interesting to see both teams not be able to sell out the 1st game in both of these much hyped parks. A sign of the economy and the stubborn organizations.

New Stadium Insider : Ruth's Granddaughter: The Babe Forgotten At "The House That George Built"

As we get more and more removed from the generation of people who have seen the Babe play it will get harder and harder to continue that legacy as there is less and less first hand knowledge of the man. If it weren't for the Babe the Yankees would not be the Yankees. He started the legacy and tradition of winning for the franchise and as an organization they should honor that. The Yankees are willing to shell out extra money to A-Rod to keep him in a Yankee uniform as he climbs the HR ladder because they know this will generate revenue. A-Rod could very well become the Greatest Of All Time yet the current no questions asked GOAT was a Yankee and they refuse to give him any distinction. Ruth is honored in memorial park and has his number retired among some of the greatest Yankees. The problem I have is he was far more important and significant to the history of the Yankees than any of those players yet he doesn't get any extra distinction or honor.

New Stadium Insider : Orioles Fans Illogical Booing of Mark Teixeira

I think the problem lies more in the fact that there were a lot of rumors about Teixiera playing up his wanting to go to Baltimore and play for his hometown team. Boston is going to boo him for his comments about he always wanted to go to the Yankees and never had real interest in the Red Sox. The Orioles fans just feel shunned because they have absolutely sucked and thought he would come in and help the franchise be relevant again and the fact that he is from the area makes it that much worse.

New Stadium Insider : About Our Experience At The New Stadium This Weekend - Yankee Stadium Security Needs More Training

Ross you hit the nail on the head with this post. I know I am a Met fan and it is expected that I would like Citi Field more but honestly I got the feeling that the new stadium DOES NOT enhance the fans experience of actually watching the game. It is nice to have better food, restaurants, and more bathrooms but you are there to watch a game and it seems like the Yankees forgot about that. Question about the upper deck, is there more leg room? It didn't seem that way and how comparable was it to Citi Field.
