Blog Cabin : Today's the Day

I would like to see that door being a functional way in and out of the house. The outdoor shower should not have been placed to block the use of the door.

I also noticed that the "mother in law door" is a door to no where! It has been blocked off since the outdoor shower is in front of it. What's that all about?

That was my understanding, that the pocket door is between the bathroom and laundry areas.

Blog Cabin : A New Sneak Peek

I drove by the Sonoma Dream Home day before yesterday, and it appears to still be unsold (empty). That winner took the cash and the home went back to the builder. Love that house!

Thank you for another peek at the inside of the house. I am looking forward to the reveal shows!

OMG! They even kept the squeak in the front door from the old house. I love it! From the peek at the kitchen, I'm glad to see they put the stools at the island instead of squeezing them into the dining area!

They should have stopped with the shutters after doing the front of the house. The ones on the side look awkward.

Yeah, it's a bummer that most of it is unusable, or illegal to build on, yet you will have to pay taxes on it!

Blog Cabin : Where We Stand Now

The stair picture is on the second floor, I believe. That is the stairway to the 3rd floor and the stairs seen in the background are the stairs to the 1st floor. Without the railing to give perspective, you get the impression that the stairs are going up toward the door!

Blog Cabin : I Hate My Kitchen Seals the Deal

There has been much speculation on where the patio will be located, so I thought I'd put in my two cents worth! From the most recent web cam shots, you can see where they've spread sand or sawdust in a patio shaped area from the stairs to the back yard, around the corner of the house to the area around the Mother-in-law door. I'm thinking that that is the base for laying the patio stones! Huh? ....Huh?.... What do you think? You could sit on the side patio to get out of the hot summer sun and later sit on the back patio to watch the sun set. Good planning!

In the front web cam shot for the 25th, the back hoe is seen parked or working in the previously fenced off area on the side of the house. It had been suggested that this area was the septic tank and/or leach field area so traffic needed to be kept off of it.....looks like that's not the case now. So what is going to happen with the area that had the orange fencing around it?? Also, check out the furniture in front of the house! We have staging?!

After looking at the webcam shot for the 24th, I think that the gravel area in front of the new brick entry is the base for the driveway pavers. It also looks like the walkway is edged in brick and will be filled in with the pavers as well. Can't wait to see that come together.

I'm afraid they've kept the cooking area next to the kitchen window....look at the power source in the wall above, for the hood....there wouldn't be an electrical outlet above the sink! I'm disappointed in the layout of this kitchen.
