I don't know the story, but i hope there IS one. I think zombies are great as long as they're not the beginning and end of the concept.

I dig it. People are bitching because he's exposed, I think it looks bad ass. It's a comic move people, gonna have have to open your imaginations a bit. Not every character should be covered fro head to toe in armor.

I thought Nightbreed was bad as HELL! " Cabal" was one of my favorites of Barker's. I thought the monsters being the "Good guys" was great. I would LOVE to see the missing footage. I'd actually love to see a remake with a budget, but who the fuck am I kidding?

/Film : Discuss: Is Matt Damon the New Harrison Ford? Shia LaBeouf... The New Bruce Willis?

yyyyyyup. Like there are "slots" to be filled. Not to get lofty, but these are artists, and just because they may give someone the same fuzzy feeling as an actor previous, doesn't mean there's a generational replacement happening. I think too that cinema (and entertainment) has changed just as drastically as society, so it's pointless to look for people that are no longer being produced by society.

I say no on all counts. Not to be a stick in the shit, but all the above mentioned had elements of character and persona that are simply not present in their would be replacements. Shia LaBeouf = Bruce WIllis? I think Shia is engaging, and a good actor, but I don't think he has near the charisma or presence of a young Bruce WIllis. Watch Die Hard then Transformers. DOH.

/Film : Guillermo del Toro Talks Vampire Novels, Slaughterhouse-Five, and the Future of Storytelling

I gotta agree with Ebert for the most part. I think there is a fundamental clash that will keep games from being considered "serious art/storytelling". Which doesn't dissuade me at all for playing, because i don't play games for high art. I agree with what Del Toro said to a degree, but having a master storyteller (or group) unfold a story in a very deliberate and ordered sequence comes into great conflict with the gamers freedom of "choose your own adventure". The closest I can see, off the top of my head, is unfolding a great story between the gameplay. But that would necessitate the removal of choice and decision.

/Film : What Are Your Most Hated Uses of CGI in Movie History?

Yeah, it seems to work well as BG animation. Things such as Beowulf, Monster House, Polar Express (My inner child still cringes) are just creepy, in a David Lynch (though not entertaining) way to me. The eyes definitely look dead, but the movement in general just is eerie. Perhaps in time they'll get it. Back in the 70's people thought hand drawn ROTOscoped animation was gonna be all the rage. People hated it.

Yeah man, your obviously entitled to your opinion, but your question was "Why on earth is he working with Tracy Morgan". Well, an ass load of people (not including you) love that show and find him hilarious. Perhaps Kevin Smith is in the majority.

yeah but, if there's any franchise that is slim in fanatical fan boys it's "the Green Hornet." There mostly geriatric and indigent. That being said I'd like to see him work on a comic film, and I'd PREFER it not to be such an iconic character that he feels the fan boy "Don't F with my childhood" crap. He's creative, why doesn't he do one of his own design. Perhaps not "Bluntman and Chronic".

Yeah, there pulling up stakes in California and I believe they're deconstructing Disney land/world as we speak. Don't be such a fatalist. There still an American Company, still BASED in the U.S. There just happens to be a ton of animation (3d in general) talent in Vancouver. I went to school there for animation, I know. It's good for everyone. Eeyore. Death of America. haha a tad melodramatic.

Totally. I felt my geek sense surge when he mentioned wolverines claws as mutant power. The adamantium was a surgical augmentation according to all the series i read, and not a mutant power. The short was funny, but i think the run time was a bit long, and brevity could have made it better for the jokes they had. All in all great to see people doing stuff for the fun of it!! Well played.
